@Goodspeed
Did he?

I believe that the decision to void all bets on the series in question was made given a lack of information on both the starting time of the series, and the comprehensive history of edits made. Apparently, Goodspeed's idea is that people who removed their losing bets after-the-fact cannot be feasibly identified. I don't understand this reasoning, since those participants will see their bets voided, whether bets stand or not.

I would just investigate potentially suspect remaining bets (Blackwidowgg and Princeofkabul are the most notable examples I found), and let bets stand if this proves possible. I understand it hasn't even been attempted, which has me perplexed.

From the scheduling thread it looked like the series would be postponed and I wasn't informed that the series was played yesterday. I have ways of checking who edited their sheets last but only when I take into account that I need to do this, and because I had no reason to believe the series would be played yesterday I didn't take it into account. Rather than checking every sheet for potential edits I cancelled the betting for that series. Sorry to everyone who would've won points.

If the idea of spending an hour going through revision histories on Google sheets appeals to you, contact me and I'll be happy to delegate this task to you next betting event.

I understand the coincidense of browsing thru the sheets. However it's kind of your "job" for running a betting event even if it's your own money and time. Also no need to nag to me for asking :p
Kinda sucks cause I would be in spot 1 after that series. Regardless thanks for answer.

Rather penalize than ban. In this case though, it isn't feasible to identify any would-be cheaters (again, outside of looking at irregularities with big net gainers).

I definitely sympathize with you, but I don't think it's reasonable to ask that of anyone. This is a (relatively) big fuck-up, but it's an unusual case, and essentially a one-off, if I understand correctly. Let's try to be tolerant.

Again, though, I really do wonder why top gainers (like 2-5 sheets) weren't just looked at, and if everything is in order, let bets stand. Then, the people who voided their own bets to avoid losing, get them voided exactly the same, and some players get fairly punished and rewarded, as well. There is literally only additional fairness in that scenario, that I can see.

Because it's appreciated by many, and historically always better conducted than this one case. Let's not overreact.

Yeah... My response seemed a bit harsh in hindsight. It's very easy to take statements like that the wrong way.

Problem is you can't tell if they cheated on purpose or just didn't know the match was already played and changed their bets because the odds changed or something.

It's pretty stupid, but @zoom is on top again. This time he wasted no time and took the #1 spot in the very first match, winning 5835 points when Knushelbär 3-2 Challe, a very unexpected result. It was almost an upset, it even should have been, but unfortunately (mostly for @deleted_user) Knushelbär pulled off a sick hold in game 5 and ended up turtling his way to victory. Zoi hasn't lost any points since then, but hasn't gained many either. He's still on top though, and still 3000 ahead of second place. @blackwidow has been trailing him by 3000 points from the beginning, and recently @Cometk joined them in the top 3. @yemshi is close behind, and @princeofkabul, the man who should have hit the jackpot but was fucked when a lazy admin made a questionable call, is in 5th. But perhaps his time is yet to come.

I don't want to say there's no hope for any of you fools, but I also don't want to give you any false hope. I mean, this is Zoi we're talking about. Statistically it's his event to lose now. I suppose we should all just keep betting consistently and hope he slips up, however unlikely that may sound.
Maybe there is a chance for upsets in tomorrow's matches. We're looking at diarouga's Aztecs against Tit's India, and SomppuKunkku's Iroquois against edurdoscool's Brits. Whoever that last kid is, he 3-2'd Aizamk's Sioux so he's no joke. Place your bets! @Hazza54321
