2v2 showmatch
I think it would be interesting to have some high level 2v2 showmatches.
Is anyone interested in scheduling such a match?

I think it would be interesting to have some high level 1v1 showmatches.

Re: 2v2 showmatch
Why not 3v3 showmatches?
We've seen plenty of 2v2s. The extra players for a 3v3 really add an extra dimension of gameplay.
Or, better yet, imagine a 3v3 rdm ESO-C tournament. Very large pool round with points for winners. Only take 10-15 games to give a statistically significant winner.

3v3 lags a lot.

I don't think that's a reason not to have a showmatch though. People play laggy 3v3's all the time, so I think all the competitors would be used to it and just accept it.

3v3 being utter shit is a good reason to not have a 3v3 showmatch though

What does this even mean?
From a casting perspective, 3v3s are a lot of fun to watch.

Re: 2v2 showmatch
It means that 3v3s take no skill and lag like shit (8 players since it's casted), and that casters wouldn't even be able to follow what's going on because there's 6 players in the game. And anyway seeing people spam pure goon, walling, or running units around the map is not interesting.

Re: 2v2 showmatch
Yes. But I can also see it going the other way, with casters focusing on the big picture rather than trying to follow every little raid; and when people actually try to organize and think ahead of a strategy for 3v3, maybe we will see some cool things that we've never seen before (especially on a water map) because most 3v3's are just randos. I'm not saying there should be a 3v3 tournament, I just think a shomatch wouldn't hurt.
Idk what to say about the lag, I just hope it won't be above people's tolerance.

Well you can just go in twitch chats and you'll see that people dislike watching team and especially 3v3. Now if someone wants to organize a 3v3 showmatch, he can go for it

I actually get more viewers when playing team than 1v1

Agreed with this. 3v3 allows for more strategic flexibility than 2v2s - which are quite similar to 1v1s in that nobody can afford to do anything other than colonial play / semi-FF.
In a 3v3, teams have the flexibility to have 2 team members defend while one does an abnormal strategy (think fish boom, fast industrial, etc.).
I would also like to see how players can leverage civ strengths in a 3v3 - which again provides more options and combinations than 2v2.
I would, personally, donate towards a prize pool for a 3v3 tournament (random or selected teams).

Re: 2v2 showmatch
Problem with 3v3 show match is that u need 7/8 players in the lobby + extra laggy stuff like uis, might be worth a try with non laggy players

Even if it's with minimal lag, the UI will be super messy and hard to follow
