Should lancers get a buff vs vills?

One reason spain is sometimes a little weak is because a lot of your units (lancers, rods, pikes) do so little damage to vills. I hear word on the street is that spain will be buffed, so what if lancers did more damage to vills? Not necesarily their full 60 damage, but at least like 30-40?

I think you could`ve stopped right there. But seriously, lancers barely do their job, most of the time I feel like I`d be better off with hussar instead. I guess they do alright when carded.

Lancers are great at their job.just not great at anything else.

I agree, lancers are great against infantry but awful against other units. Unfortunately, your opponent will have units (like cav) to block them and goons to snipe them, so vet huss would do better in most situations.

Thats why you should slam in rods first, and come in with lancers after.

which is dumb because lancers were actually counter cavalry not counter infantry back in the day....but then again ESO thought jinetes were superiour dragoons from portugal so yea

This is an interesting change but realistically wouldn't have an impact on many games. It seems like there are more fundamental reasons that Spain is weak, and those are ones that should/will be addressed.

Well... I could imagine that Spain is not necessarily worse than other civs. It is just quite different to play, although it looks like a standard euro-civ.
- Spain does not have upgrade cards for the most commonly used units in the game: skirm/goon(/musket)
- Spanish eco does not seem to be remarkable
- Spanish main bonus is having many shipments, but, unfortunately, they cannot ship skirm/goon
Many people do FF and send goons/skirms. The inability to do so, makes Spain different to play. Especially, since your alternative shipments are often low in value and unit classes that most people are not used to build in FFs.
