Hello everybody!
With the New World Championship coming up soon, the Media Team is looking for some new faces to bolster our crew. We will be very busy during active tournament season and will need some help in order to keep things running smoothly with ESOC. Anyone is free to apply and you will hear from us within a week. We are specifically looking for a graphics artist and a newspost writer.
The Media Team produces the largest events in the AoE3 community and handles everything that goes with that. We have a forum with high visibility where your work can be seen and promoted. We also have a dedicated YouTube, Twitter, Twitch and Facebook page making it a complete stack to work on media and marketing. We need more people who are interested in running large events and leveraging our network to reach as many AoE3 players as possible.
Being a Media Team member is an unpaid and often tedious position. You will not receive any benefits when it comes to tournaments, events, or otherwise. Please only apply if you genuinely want to help ESOC’s effort and you expect to be active in doing so.
The deadline is Friday, April 5th, 2019.
To be eligible, you must:
- Have an ESOC account that is at least 6 months old. More is a bonus.
- Have a Discord account.
- Have a Google account.
- Be available to be active on ESOC and Discord for extended periods of time most days.
- Work with a team of people efficiently.
- Be able to take criticism well.
- Have effective written/typed communication.
- Have an understanding of ESOC’s goals and intentions.
- Enjoy helping others even with obvious or mundane questions or situations.
- Be more or less fluent in English.
- Where are you from? (Which country do you live in?)
- How active can you be as a media team member, and during which times would you be active? (GMT)
- Do you have any previous experiences in media-related positions? Note that this is not a requirement
- Do you have any other skills that might benefit the media team?

Graphics Artist
Graphics Artists help us to bring flavor and life to our tournaments by creating the visuals for them. The graphics artist would primarily create front-page stream schedule templates, stream overlay templates, banners, YouTube thumbnails, and forum badges. In addition, the graphics artist might liaise with the Dev Team in working to implement animated & accessible stream overlays for our casters. To apply, we want to see your talent. Newspost Writer
Newsposts Writers keep the community informed about our events by writing articles for the front page of the site. News posts should be fun, informative, and enthusiastic. Your goal is to get people engaged with the tournament story-line and interested in watching the streams. In addition, the newspost writer might prepare match notes for our casters so that the casters can summarize the players' tournament history and AoE3 predilections. To apply, we want to see your talent. Please write a news post that addresses the following prompt:
[spoiler=News Post Prompt]The Grand Finals of The General's Table 2v2 Invitational is coming up. Hazza54321 & Knuschelbär, the top-seeded team, defeated Mitoe & Kaiserklein in the Semi-Finals to secure their spot in the finals. On the other hand is the synergistic team of Veni_Vidi_Vici_W & snowww who trounced Aizamk & Challe in the Semis. Write a news post summarizing the previous round and hyping up the upcoming series in which you detail the players, the maps, the vetoes, etc. The news post should be between 500-800 words, though exceptions are allowed if there are good reasons.[/spoiler]
