Tip of the Week: How to Catch Enemy Huss

Post by Jaeger »

Hello! I will not be giving any tips, I am actually the one asking; I think it will be cool and beneficial for the lower players, like me, to read these answers.

I see that some people are very good at chatching raids, while other players (like me) often let the enemy huss slip past the trap. Are there any tips that you could give to improve someone's ability to catch raids?

I feel the simplest solution (in certain matchups at least) is to construct your buildings a bit further out of your base than you normally would for more line of sight. Spotting the raid earlier will allow you to setup the trap more easily.

Yeah if you're not going to get rushed, spread your buildings out for LOS. If you're likely to be pressured, build them in a wall shape, so that it shields your vils + opponents huss have less angles to come in/get out of your base.
Then when you get raided, be ready to split your huss in 2-3 control groups. Spread them early enough to cover as many angles as possible. Then you have to react quickly ofc.

Once snared, task your individual huss to each of his individual huss to maintain snare

In huss fight, if your opponent does that dumb drop one back "trick," just re-attack move and you'll probably win.

Being a dedicated cav player I found the above tips very helpful. I will test it as soon as this high has gone.
