Block training
Block training
Would Russia be a much stronger civ if there was no block training for military units? The ability to queue one musket for quicker unit pops seems pretty game deciding for a lot of colonial games. On the other hand it's impossible to accidentally miss your batch. Does anyone actually even like this design?

If, they would retain the cheaper costs, yes.

Re: Block training
I feel like their batch training also comes with cheaper units (because batches are objectively worse than other civs)
Overall, I think it's still a benefit to Russia

Re: Block training
I like the design because I think choosing between queueing a villager batch or a strelet/musketeer batch is an interesting mechanic.
But they would definitely be much stronger without the batch training, that's for sure. That's why their units are cheaper (and weaker), I suppose.

Re: Block training
You can always make grenadiers and cav if the block training is a problem.
Honestly i think it is a unique mechanic that forces a russia play to play proactively and also helps offset their extremely fast villager training time, that sometimes you need to delay a batch of vills by 10 seconds to get some strel or musk out. If russia didn't have the weakening/block training i think they would be too capable of both booming and aggression simultaneously ( im looking at you Germany)

Re: Block training
You can always ship or build a fort if block training is a problem.

touche...
I get it though it's basically the guns and butter principle in action, and what civ better to actualize that principal than russia. The last two hundred years of Russia have been dominated by that.
