Re: BEST THING about aoe3 community
Personally, because it exists. I have been seeing AoE3 hated, shat on, and otherwise considered trash and NOT a AoE game, and it is pretty bad at times. I mean I've seen this problem before, and it is almost exclusive to older games that predated the internet blogosphere explosion that happened in mid-decade last decade. CnC? I faintly remember when I was forum-diving that CnC Generals was absolutely hated by the older community because it wasn't -in their mind- CnC. Remember when Fallout 3 was revealed? An entire portion of the fandom (aka the 'No Mutants Allowed' portion) simply tried to kill interest for it because it had the audacity to be in 3D, let alone on the East Coast!
Since many of my games have immense hard drive requirements, I have to utilize a rotation system to keep playing my games. AoE3 occasionally becomes on my rotation list because I liked it. It experimented, it tried to be different, it was trying to see what can and can't work! That is something that keeps things from getting stale. Yes, you'll have missteps but that's all part of life and trying new things...
... and given the state of the overall industry where experimentation is seen as... dangerous...

I liked your use of bold, italic, and underline.

Stop. The external stimuli is being overloaded. My eyes are beginning to hear null-jazz in the realm of where teeth have grins. I cannot look away or shut my myringa, which are fusing into one.
