Napoleonic Era civ in Age of Empires 3 definitive edition
Napoleonic Era civ in Age of Empires 3 definitive edition
Since we know that the developer of Napoleonic Era works for the definitive edition team and there has been speculation of a new civ being added, it might very well be one of the Napoleonic Era civs.

I don't think they will, but if they did, I wonder which...

Since yesterday, we officially know that the DE's are developed by Forgotten Empires. Source: https://www.forgottenempires.net/age-of ... nouncement.
For over a year, we know that the lead of Napoleonic Era is an employee of Forgotten Empires. Source: https://ne.elpea.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2624
What we don't know is whether @tilanus is part of the team working on AoE3:DE. It's even speculated that another studio is working on AoE3:DE, and not Forgotten Empires.
Even if Tilanus is working on AoE3:DE, it's questionable how much influence he has over what new content/civilizations will be implemented, since he is a graphics lead.
Re: Napoleonic Era civ in Age of Empires 3 definitive edition
@edeholland doesn't that link specifically say AoE2 DE not all DEs?
Re: Napoleonic Era civ in Age of Empires 3 definitive edition
That was my point. AFAIK there’s nothing linking FE to AoE3 DE.

Well that's like saying Interjection is working for EscapeAoe but that doesn't mean there's any link and that Escape will make Age of Empires 3 Videos.

It's implied that Forgotten Empires is working on AoE3:DE, so I think it's understandable people link the two together.
I also heard FE is not working on AoE3:DE. There is reason to believe they do, though.

They are saying there is a link between Tilanus and FE, between FE and AoE2:DE, but not between FE and AoE3:DE.bobabu wrote:n0el wrote:That was my point. AFAIK there’s nothing linking FE to AoE3 DE.

I think assuming that just because Tilanus is from the AOE3 community is a big jump to make to FE developing 3DE. I would be concerned about the timing in that case because they almost certainly aren’t developing those games simultaneously which would put 3DE about 2 years away.
