What new implementations do you expect for aeo3 de?
What new implementations do you expect for aeo3 de?
Being able to change diplomacy and team in mid game like aeo2 would be nice. Another thing I would like to see is Being able to trade export beetwen asían civs for tr games
Re: What new implementations do you expect for aeo3 de?
Change diplomacy mid-game? That sounds very hard to implement, I'm not sure they can do it
Re: What new implementations do you expect for aeo3 de?
pls stop discussing about aoe3de one year (if im correct) before release, im getting too hyped for no reason...
If you see any mistakes in my grammar/vocabulary or whatever, please correct me. I really appreciate it

That has been posible since aeo2 so I don't see any reason for them to not add it in aeo3. I've even seen some risk scenarios for aeo3 where you can change teams in mid game.

Sadly there are no players at my lv using the patch. Besides that the Tr patch took all the fun out of China by reducing the population limit and taking away the 20+ seetlers

I don't expect much. In typical Microsoft fashion, it's likely they will make some cosmetic changes here and there, to give new players enough reasons to buy it. So it could be any of these items:
Game adapted for 4K resolution (I know it can already do that, but the game has issues fully recognising and using newer video cards, so they might address that) which could include some updated textures here and there. They're probably going to focus on the least expensive changes like sprucing up the UI, adding newer and finer textures to the UI, which would already change the appearance of the game by 30% (that's how much screen space the maximised UI takes).
Somewhat improved and re-textured interface for Options, game loading, HC and deck editing, ESO interface, etc. Because it's cheaper and it can impress new players.
Maybe some new campaigns and scenarios, because they know that most players bought the game for that (and they were disappointed). And making campaigns and scenarios is, again, bingo, cheap as fuck. You can pay a decent amateur content creator to do it for you for a few thousand bucks per month, for just a few months. And the bottom line will be that some great new campaigns can make the game bring at least a few hundred thousand bucks.
Other cosmetic shit like a new in-game mouse pointer, improved menus, minimap.
Maybe a couple of new maps too. Maybe a couple of game-breaking bugs sorted out.
But that'll be pretty much it. And of course, an "epic" trailer.
The whole thing should cost in the ballpark of several tens of thousands of bucks, at most.
We can already do all that at zero cost, and sometimes with better results.
Re: What new implementations do you expect for aeo3 de?
@Dolan Highly unlikely they'll charge tens of thousands of dollars for the game.

They will also probably add the civs they discarded because they where running out of time like the Swedish

I doubt they would go with civs that were originally intended to be with the game. The company doing DE will be completely unrelated to the studio that I initially developed the game

I meant that's how much the whole revamped DE edition will cost Microsoft. Then they'll charge at least 50 bucks for the new, epic game.
It will sell like hot cakes because "omagash, new campaigns, updated textures and new UI". Then people will realise it lags more because of the "4K textures", because the same old bugs are still there and because it's the same crappy networking setup that we know and appreciate when it lags.
Then they'll go back to playing the old version and Microsoft will conclude it's been a success, they made people pay them money for the new edition.

Re: What new implementations do you expect for aeo3 de?
- improved unit/building textures. Aoe3 still looks great, but the unit textures are lacking in details. They did this in aoe2 too and it looked pretty good
- improved building destruction animations. These look great in aoe2 DE and I want it for aoe3 too. Doesn't seem unlikely to happen for aoe3.
- 4K support. Not that I really care, but it will be in it.
- Moesbar exploit fixed. This is probably the thing I look forward to the most. EP's 'fix' isn't good enough. It's going to be so nice that you don't have to be paranoid about people possibly cheating.
- A modern online environment
- Integrated observer maps and observer interface
- ESOC maps
- EP balance patch
The last few things like ESOC maps, EP balance patch and observer maps are things I am not sure will be there, but they seem obvious inclusions.
EDIT: I'm also really hoping for multiple monitor support. Currently aoe3 doesn't work that well with a dual monitor set up and I've resorted to external software to actually lock the cursor to aoe3's window.

Idk what your pr is but the idea that there is only pro players on the ep is not true anymore. I don't remember where but I saw some stats showing that the most common pr in the ep is 2nd lt or smg.
There no excuse to not play ep nowadays.
Re: What new implementations do you expect for aeo3 de?
I expect two or three new civilizations fitting to the timeline (Sweden/Poland/Italy/Hungary), given that they also add new ones to AoE2.
Whatever is written above: this is no financial advice.
