The fate of all AoE3 subjects after DE
The fate of all AoE3 subjects after DE
Although I understood and sympathised with with efforts of ESOC to keep tweaking the game for better balance and general integrity of the game, I have always lamented the division of the player base between super pros and the new and casual players.
I think DE may be for the best of the community. Some at ESOC may see the coming of DE as a signal of redundancy but i think you're a big part of the contingent that's managed to keep it from dying.

Re: The fate of all AoE3 subjects after DE
I don't really understand the post entirely. But if you're meaning that ESOC has a large divide between high level players and mid level players, it tends not to be the case. The average PR is something like high 20s afterall.

If DE is bad we'll keep playing on the EP. If it's good, I guess it will indeed be good to merge the playerbase.

EP will be better but it won't stay the standard forever. Hopefully DE is actually a good game and not just a graphics overhaul.

DE will use the same base code hopefully, so we can hopefully use EP on DE.

Game balance is the defining factor in game quality and thus player enjoyment. It's the cornerstone.
I'll be extremely disappointed if DE ignores this aspect. The "official" balance is abysmal.

If anyone was, they'd be NDA'd so we wouldn't know.
No, I haven't been NDA'd, although I remind Microsoft I've signed at least two NDAs and I live in Seattle.

Assuming they have not lost the source code like they lost the administrations tools and passwords.
Re: The fate of all AoE3 subjects after DE
This all assumes that AoE3 as we know it (ESO) is supported, I think that is a big stretch to assume. So EP might be able to live on, on GameRanger.
mad cuz bad
Re: The fate of all AoE3 subjects after DE
Personally I'd like to see lot of changes on DE:
-Anticheat
-Competitive maps
-Server - ranking system
-Bug fixes which is hard do fix currently: disappearing granades, falcon limber-bombard mod bugfix
-fixed crates (which is ctrlc ctrlv work can be done in 5 mins)
-remove notp tp map differences
-balance changes
-wall price increase
-buff useless units and stuffs
-water rework
But i know its pretty much impossible that i'll see these featuers...

Or maybe we'll find a way to make our own ESO. Who knows. Celeste did.

Re: The fate of all AoE3 subjects after DE
It all comes down to how good the DE is. Considering that Microsoft likes to rush unfinished products, i wouldn't have the highest of hopes. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though. We'll see. What i am mostly concerned about is balance and also graphics. AoE3 looks awesome honestly. I hope they don't ruin it with new weird graphics.

Re: The fate of all AoE3 subjects after DE
Well, given what they've done/announced on other editions, I would say 4K is likely and that they will support balance changes.
