Them not letting tabben in was the weirdest thing. In retrospect I wish I would have told the bouncers about his Spanish revolt

Exactly. Tabben gained so much aoe clout for his series against diarouga it seemed impossible that he was the one the wouldn't let in. I was frustrated to say the least.

I was not happy about this and told them that they were being sexist. Afterwards, @fightinfrenchman and I called them and left some voicemails. We found a much better place to hang out anyway. It was in a basement and had a much more fun atmosphere.

One tactic I always suspected bouncers of using is when they want to keep an entire group out, they'll single out one member and tell them they can't enter, giving whatever made-up reason to justify it. This switches the focus off them somewhat, easing the chances of confrontation. And I imagine it's generally successful at keeping an entire group out (depending on its size).
I always assume the real reason is maintaining the gender ratios (or if it's a casino how much money you look like you can afford to waste), I'm surprised they actually said it out loud in this case.

there was not a single reason to let us into that bar but many reasons not to do so. I wouldnt have let myself in given the circumstances. tabben in track pants was just the icing on the cake but not the real reason. Cant expect to get into a bar with 30 : 1 ratio.

In Chicago depending on the area some bars have stricter dress code then other bars. Some bars you cant get in if you have gym shoes on, or shorts. But ya ratio also matters ofc, it's not really fair or reasonable to except a bar to let 30 dudes in all at once.

Well it was pretty filled already I think. So they basically didn't want the money of 30 people buying drinks at their place. Seems stupid to me.
