Damn, that really sucks to hear. Thanks to everyone who made the NWC possible, it was honestly an incredible experience, and if you had told me such a thing would happen a few years ago I never would have believed it.

Sad to read.

But happy it existed for the time that it did. NWC was fantastic!

Yay! Yet another depressing thing in my life. Honestly, the LAN was one of the highlights of my year and I enjoyed every single second of it. Meeting everyone and seeing people for who they really are was such a great experience and one which I had hoped would continue. I wish we were given some sort of notice and perhaps a fundraising could've occurred. While I'm not wealthy, I have excellent credit and could've taken out a decent loan and helped out a bit and you all could've paid me back when you got the chance. I also could've helped find investors.

Anyway, thanks for the awesome event and all the content that you've provided. Good luck to you all!

Chin up Xeelee! I guess the Europeans and anybody else could try and organise a long weekend / week-long meetup in a european city and catch up soon! It would be a shame if this marked the end of the community hanging out in real life.

Also, fuck this guy.
Well, you shouldn't be, in fact during this time you did only one quality aoe2 event which wasnt even 100% successful (which was prepared for 9 months) - looks like you ignored some feedback after launch event.

Statement which I didnt see from you yet is the fact that you wasted this time and those funds, instead you are mentioning something about "insufficient community support" and "what we tried to achieve was seen through a critical lens" LUL.

Still dont know how you wanted to attract sponsors streaming 10% of time which Memb or Nili did in this year.

Kinda sad but expected tbh. Even 10-15k viewers on a final day wouldnt change anything

Yeah, now I'm even sadder that I didn't get to attend that. I was naively almost expecting another LAN at some point. Well, maybe I'll see you guys in DE somewhere.

my thoughts exactly

this is an important part that cannot be understated.

Losing Escape is one thing, but losing interjection would have been an even bigger, crippling, loss. it's good that he's still around

Thanks ever so much for all the work you've done guys, not only the Lan which was an incredible five days but just how many people you've brought back into playing the game, not to mention the hundreds of hours of TV quality streams . It is really a loss to the whole of age of empires to see you guys go

Well, i missed what turned out to be another once in a lifetime event. Really disappointed I didn't go to LAN now.

Wish there was something we could have done. It's really unfortunate the timing. I was hoping Escape would explode in these coming months and was wondering about investing.

Finances must be tough trying to make it streaming, though.

Wow, that's too bad to hear.

The LAN was the best thing I have seen in AOE3 and I have been playing/following this game since 2005.
I was looking forward to next year if there was going to be another event.

Thanks for everything you guys did, it was amazing while it lasted.

They proved they can hold events in a professional manner so maybe there's still yet a future for them if they so choose.

I do wish they were more open about them closing. Like xelee said we could of done a fundraising, the aoe3 and aoe2 community together. Plus pushing the merchandise line to make money. It sounds like this is official but if they would consider this I would really like to see them give this a try, perhaps with the goal to last at least 2 more months for aoe2 de release then go from there

I think even with fundraising they wouldn't be able to stay afloat, you have to remember that it's 4 people earning a living + the costs associated with running a business like it which is huge.
