CAPTCHA question
CAPTCHA question
Having recently forgotten my password and failed 3 times, I was asked to answer a security test to ensure I was a human and not a robot. (I think it's known as a CAPTCHA)
Despite having reset my password and thus knowing my username and password, I failed the test before realising it was due to a spelling.
Could we make the CAPTCHA Brit friendly so that it doesn't require a specifically American spelling of a word to answer correctly: allow centre or center?

Re: CAPTCHA question
The Americans invented this language. We shouldn't change our traditions.

Re: CAPTCHA question
We already disabled the question for registration because there were some users who genuinely didn't know the answer, either by not knowing any English or having barely played the game.
Re: CAPTCHA question
Im not gonna lie it took me like 8 attempts before i realised i had to abandon all the morals I've developed over my lifetime and spell centre the vomit-worthy american abomination way of ruining a perfectly good language spelling
Re: CAPTCHA question
I was asked it yesterday, not for registration but for identity check. Could it be changed to allow centre or center, because I read center without noticing the difference to centre, but when I write it, invariably spell the said word "centre."edeholland wrote:We already disabled the question for registration because there were some users who genuinely didn't know the answer, either by not knowing any English or having barely played the game.

Re: CAPTCHA question
We can probably get rid of the entire question. Bots are hardly a problem nowadays. We have banned certain e-mail domains and have a post approval process.

Re: CAPTCHA question
I added "centre" as an acceptable spelling.
It looks like we have a reCaptcha plugin installed, tbh not sure why we don't use that. Tested it quickly, looks like it doesn't render in the page. Need a frontend dev to look into it further I guess.
