GUA December 2019 Subscriber Tournament Hello everyone, it's time for another GUA Subscriber Tournament!
Sign ups are open now! To sign up, you need to be subscribed to my twitch channel as of November 30th. In order to participate, you also MUST POST IN THIS TOPIC saying that you want to compete in the tournament. Sign ups close November 30th.
Prize pool: $400 USD
1st place: $170 USD
2nd place: $105 USD
3rd place: $65 USD
4th place: $40 USD
$20 USD Prize to the winner of the biggest upset in the tournament. (This will be decided by the admins).
(Prize payouts are subject to change until the tournament starts.)
Thanks to Pr0fection, @n0el, @spanky4ever, @bwinner. @Goujar, @sirmusket, @SoldieR, @Makrokosmos12, and @giveuanxiety for contributing towards the prize pool.
Tournament Rules: The Tournament will have a maximum number of participants as 32. If there are more than 32 subs that wish to particiapate we will take the top 32 subs with the higest max EP 1v1 elo and seed them into the tournament. If we do not have enough players for a 32 man bracket then we will do a 16 man bracket. (Players must have a minimum of 10 ranked EP 1v1 games played on their acc.)
Civ Rules: Every game in the tournament will be random civ and random map. Each player gets 1 civ respin per series. Each player can respin only THEIR civ once per series. If you use your civ respin then we will respin the wheel and you will be forced to play that new civ. Only 1 player can use their 1 civ respin in each game. In other words both players cannot each use their one civ respin in the same game. If both players ask to use their one civ respin in the same game then the civ respin will only be given to the player that asked for the civ respin first. Civs and maps will be chosen during the live stream in the game lobby right before each game starts.
Example: The map is Bengal, Kaiser gets german, Kaiser asks for a civ respin. We respin the wheel and Kaiser gets ottoman. Kaiser then has to play as ottoman. Civs and maps can be played multiple times in the same series. So if one player randomly gets British in game 1, 2 and 3, then they will play that civ in each of those games. The maps will randomly be chosen from maps.php.
If the explorer crack shot bug is used then the player who used it will get a loss immediately for that game, and we will move onto the next game in the series. Use of any other bugs or cheats will have to same outcome. All decisions are ultimately up to the admins of the tournament.
The tournament admins are: @giveuanxiety and @SoldieR
RO32: Best of 5
RO16: Best of 5
RO8: Best of 7
Semi Finals: Best of 7
Bronze and Finals match: Best of 7
- In the event a player cannot play or doesn't want to play and their already in the bracket then we will replace their spot with the next player in line, with the next closest max ELO.
The Tournament starts December 1st and finishes by December 31st. We will cast all the tournament games live @ twitch.tv/giveuanxiety. If I'm unaviable some of the tournament games may be casted @twitch.tv/iamsoldier_us or @twitch.tv/esoctv Players will be given timeslots on 3 or 4 separate days with the times I have available to stream, the players will need to schedule to play their series within the days and times I post. Each round and series may move quicker than typical ESOC tournaments, player must adhere to these rules so we can efficiently move through the tournament without being forced to give any admin losses to the player. If players dont schedule in the time their allowed to them the tournament admins will be forced to make a decision.

Re: GUA December Sub Tour
Just saying: You should work with respin rule to make it fair. For example, assuming both players get a terrible civ in the last game, the one who got spinned first gets a very unfair advantage. Or even if you announce the civs same time, does it make sense that the faster player to write "respin" gets a massive advantage?
I'm just afraid this rule backfires on my boy hazz who likes to masturbate during pauses instead of being ready to type "respin" in this situation.
You should just remove the rule so both players can respin in the same game if they want to. Atleast then the rules are identical to both players without any kind of speedtests.

The issue with that is that then the player who uses the respin second would have an advantage.

Is the respin for both players civs? If its just for one player then having both players being able to respin sounds fair to me.
Re: GUA December Sub Tour
You could have it so that you confirm if the 2nd player wants to respin, before announcing the 1st player's re-spinned civ. After one player's respinned civ has been announced, then no more respins allowed (from 2nd player)

No, there's no issue with that. If both players are aware of the rules, they both know that spinning first might bring a disadvantage. Therefore, there's a possibility that neither of the players want to respin knowing that other can respin aswell. Then they play the original MU.giveuanxiety wrote:The issue with that is that then the player who uses the respin second would have an advantage.

Or this. It doesn't really matter as long as the rules are consistent.Cometk wrote:You could have it so that you confirm if the 2nd player wants to respin, before announcing the 1st player's re-spinned civ. Re: GUA December Sub Tour
I'll consider these things and the rules may change up until the start date of the tournament.

Re: GUA December Sub Tour
I work tonight so there will be no stream today, I will most likely stream Friday. I work Saturday so no stream then, so it looks like Friday will be the last stream before the sub tour begins, so the last time to subscribe during one of my streams. You can always sub when im not live if you dont catch the stream and you still want to play in the tournament.

How about the timeline? I think it's bad if you really need to play these games during xmas and new years eve?
