most of high level players do have good mechanics and it is hard to compare. Aizamk is probably the best with the mouse control. I always found impressive kaiser's positioning( a part of micro), instead of micro as whole. Many high level players can micro the same way but not using army position nearly as good as him. Raphael has the most capasity on his mechs and could play aoe 3 probably in fast speed and beat everyone. Turk's mechs remind me of myself when i wasn't washed up. pretty good at everything, but not specified to be best at any field.

ps.

I wish, haha. I think my mechanics are good but not amazing, usually.

There was only 1 time I remember thinking my micro was actually good; it was during one of the weekend tournaments last year. I woke up on half a night's sleep, wondering if I should just forfeit and get some more rest before work later that day, and instead ended up winning the tournament after beating Kaiser and Raphael and in a couple of the games felt like every single unit was easily within my control. I've never been able to micro quite like that since then.

Best mechanics, Its probably aizmak and sompu, (if its only positioning ) if macro is included in it then kynsie and sompu.
Aizmak game is versatile, not like he couldnt play good macro its just he prefers rush.
Turk is good in raiding cav style game. Snowww is excellent too btw.
All big names are just wonderfull ryan mankle was best.
Another bogus post where everyone is best.

But yes sompu is just underrated when ti comes too mechanics. He clearly take advantage of positioning in most games and sometimes turn the tides for good.

Kynesie and somppu have the worst mechanics among the top players. Even worse than me, which says a lot.

Braidon was really fast back in the day. I saw one of his VODs and it changed how I played myself lol.

To be fair you can't really judge one's mechanics by just watching a stream. The only thing you can see is how fast the player is (you can't even really estimate the APM), which doesn't matter because efficiency is the key. For example, I remember I watched a parfait VOD, and he seemed to be the fastest player while in fact, his mechanics are way worse than those of the current top players when you consider his macro and his micro...

Parfait played in 2006-2008. If he continued, his efficiency would have improved along the way. Also, back in those years people played on 1024x768 mostly. No comparison to today's Full HD as a minimum standard.
While we don't see all the button presses, a stream is still a very good way to judge one's mechanics. I see how he selects his vills, how he groups his army, how he dragboxes, when he does what, etc.

You see much more than in a replay. Tell me a better way to judge someone's mechanics then other than by a stream or VOD?? Sitting behind them? :P
