We're investigating issues with ESO connectivity and the Age 3 servers. Thanks for your patience.

Our future home must have a ranking system

I got on game ranger once. I would marry acergame's mentally retarded cousin before I would get on that piece of shit again.

Wasn't there something about not insulting or degrading the name of others on this forum? Nobody cares? Ok.

my comment wasn''t inherently insulting. Maybe I would love to marry a mentally retarded cousin of acer and am using it to show how much I like gameranger

I honestly just like the aoe3 UI. And ofc the rankinf system , its pretty important for optimal gaming experience. Only downside is that you cant chat with ppl that are ingame.
The problem about moving to gameranger isnt gameranger, its that a large chunk of the community will just stop playing when ESO is closed.

neuron wrote:Explain. I played in Game ranger too and its ok, its only missing a rating system. Which maybe we find a way to implement. Since a rating system for AOE3 in GR exists for paid membership, then it should be possible for free too.gibson wrote:I got on game ranger once. GR actually has a better friends list, better blocked players system, the chat is better too because u can see more chat windows in the same screen. And it already has more than 100 AOE3 hosted rooms everyday. So, if the shit hits the fan, you will be happy you have a free place where you can still play (and you dont have to mess around with virtual private networds or Hamachi or the lag in Voobly).
game ranger isnt asceticlly pleasing at all, at least not to my eyes. Also, like you said, lack of a ranking system is a deal breaker me. Why play a game when theres a 80% chance the other player is significantly better or worse then I am?

If worst comes to worse I would imagine voobly would be the best place to play on. I currently play aoe2 there with no problems, no lag etc. They have active admins, cheat protection and tech support and ranking.
Game ranger on the other hand sucks. Rampant with cheaters and the Ui is horrific.

Ya, why does anyone ever mention gr before voobly... Makes no sense. Voobly currently has FP as standard and can be changed, and has a ranking system...

I remember trying to get people from ESO to voobly.. Built in FP was great, the UI decent, eloratings refreshing, etc.
But it's too early. More people need to find ESOC first.
You guys better not be forgetting to spread the word!

And the ESO game count is even larger. Most of the people on GR play on that platform only (God knows why). Those on ESO are likely used to the structured environment, and would move to Voobly in the event of an ESO collapse. As mentioned, Voobly has active mods, cheat detection systems, and rankings. The only reason the ESO player base is not there, is that ESO is slightly better. But in the event of ESO going down permanently, Voobly is not a bad choice, especially when one considers the chaos of GR is the only other alternative.neuron wrote:Here''s a comparison:
Voobly number of current AOE3 players logged in:

Game Ranger number of AOE3 hosted rooms (number of players is much bigger):

We probably still have a minimum of a few years left with ESO because the numbers have been relatively static since 2012. There really is no need to have this discussion at this time.

The people who primarily play at gr are using pirated versions of the game, so they can't play at eso.
