Switch from RE to EP
Switch from RE to EP
When is it worth it balance whise to switch from the RE to the EP version.
So when would you say "I lost because of the Nation x and that the unit or game mechanic y is so broken!" Rather than"I did a mistake"
Does it matter at or below pr20 which version you play? Since you make mistakes that influences the game.
Im interested in your opinions.

I'd say it's probably worth it at any level, if only for the maps and other QOL changes.Nicius wrote:When is it worth it balance whise to switch from the RE to the EP version.

It probably also helps that at a lower level some civilizations get a buff compared to easy civilizations like Otto. So probably anytime. The only trouble is finding games at lower levels.
The discord makes it pretty easy to find games, that said.
Re: Switch from RE to EP
Most Players on ep are pr25+
So it´s kinda hard to find games if you are lower than 1lt.

Re: Switch from RE to EP
In my opinion there are just too many aspects to accurately judge if you "should" have won if the civ balance was better.
First of all, Even if you're better than someone, you are still supposed to lose some games statistically.
And even then, who says that you are supposed to reliable win the majority of ALL matchups that are fair in theory? Your opponent could be better at raiding, micro, specific match ups, treasure hunting, decision making, map awareness, luck, mind reading, learning faster, etc.
When you approach rank 35-40 it may matter more, where most of the macro is really fine tuned as well as very few mistakes when it comes to micro and raiding.
switch to EP for map balance long before civ balance IMHO.

Do whatever you like for example I never switched to ep since I enjoy less playing to it
Re: Switch from RE to EP
EP maps are where its at. for people pr 20-25 like me, most 1v1s I play are on RE patch, EP maps.
Re: Switch from RE to EP
In my opinion you shouldn't care about ELO and PR, they're just numbers and the only way to improve is playing, playing and playing and with people that you can learn from. Play against someone who rekts you and save the recorded game so later you can analize it and see what he does and what you could improve. I don't recommend you playing more of 5 games against someone you can't beat in a row because you'll get mad and frustated, just practice a little, turn of the pc, go outside for a few hours and comeback to try again
