75f. Cheaper than 1 musketeer. Seriously. If it saves one vill, it has paid off.

And yet players, even in top games, often do not research it. I cannot comprehend it.

Some not only do not research it by default, but do not research it when sneaking vills into far eco locations, when raided, when besieged in their base, when tanking with vills...

Somehow everybody remembers to research hunting dogs, train vills, or explore the map. Why not this then?

I never get it. I can spend that 75f on 3/4th of a musk.

If I upgrade my vills that just makes it harder for my opponent to free up some of my pop space in a time of need. No thanks.

I always forget it. You definitely don't want to get it early, and then I forget.

You kinda don't want to get it until you have to move vils out of base, unless you're really getting pressured. 75f isn't much (and yes it's a great upgrade) but getting it too early means you may get, say, 1 less huss out in a batch, and that can be impactful. Then yeah later we sometimes forget about it.
The nat/asian vil hp isn't bad either though. The combination of great coat and blunderbuss for cheap can totally be worth it when punching cav raids or defending a rush.

i don't get the asian/twc upgrade because then you can't herd as animals die in one shot and your base looks like that of victor_swe

I just hope DE is not going to implement all of the EP changes. Right now it is a big clusterfuck.

God, someone asks genuine advice/question and 70% of esoc jumps in to troll. Not expected this from Mitoe, thnx Kaiser for great reply.

What's wrong with trolling? Don't start attacking our culture.

It's a great tech, but a situational one. Usually I don't get it to save resources unless I know I will be rushed like crazy.

It's a rant, I think humour is a great response.

When playing Brits I usually research it from my 500f when aging up with food crates, otherwise I research it when building houses with 700w. On my level it's better to research it a minute too early and miss a musk, its almost always worth it.

I think great coats is always worth it. No matter how high of a level the game is being played at, villagers always die. if 75f insurance saves even one villager, then worth it.

There is a time to get it obviously and perhaps you don't get it if you need to get that 5th hussar out or something. however it should be researched every game
