A-Move not working

I feel like often my attack move doesnt work properly, units that are already in range of attacking walk a lot further than they need to, taking unnecessary damage. Also, seems like when i hold down alt to see hp and then manouver units, they a-move. Is there a way to prevent them from a-moving when pressing alt and can i somehow fix my attack move to work in proper range? Thanks!

You can't disable this hotkey actually

trick is to a move but click behind ur army so they move back and shoot, your army moves towards where u first clicked the a move so if u click behind ur lines then they move in that direction

I seem to get this bug a lot too, does it matter that my attack move is on the right click button for my mouse rather than a keyboard button?

This happens when your dead scout is in the group you're attack moving with as well.

I always attack move on a unit and not on the ground to prevent this. If you attack move on the ground they walk towards that position for a split second, which can be devastating. Zuta is right too, the dead hero messes with your attack moves.

Thanks for all the replies! When i click behind my army like hazza said, they just casually walk away unfortunately until theyre out of range. I also dont have my explorer grouped usually, i try to melee him and tank like a pro
I guess it's lag causing this delay like Bram said?

Does your attack move hotkey overlap with any others? That can be a recipe for disaster.

yea if there is a small lag spike at the same time, units are going to walk, its super awful when you attack move with slow animation units like llb or br, makes me crazy when my br walk into opponent musq, you cant re-task fast cause you need to pull them back to avoid melee and their animation takes long before they shot so your opponent has already get 3shots and shit on all of your 1rst line lol. You go from a (in seemingly) good fight to take to a super shit fight result.

I think this is kinda the same mechanic as the formation units hotkey, you often need to push them several time before they really switch formation cause it seems to be super sensible to any kind of very little lag or computer lag delay.

Does that mean that if some units are too far behind the a-move gets delayed until they catch up? (would also explain why it then bugs with dead explorer half-map)
Then again, this is exactly what a-move is supposed to do, units attacking as soon as possibole without all having to be in range..

Have you ever tried the trick where you take our the internet cable from your pc, then plug it back in, then take it out, and each time you take our u just hold it in the air fir 2 seconds and then you stick it back in, effectively freezing the game? Now thats a move.
