Wish for a RE map
Wish for a RE map
When cleaning your desk you find a lamp. From this lamp, a genie appears and ask you one wish. "You can change one thing in a RE map".
What would you ask for?
What would you ask for?
Re: Wish for a RE map
Give me a starting hunt on sonora. That shit pisses me off every time.
Also removing Texas from the standard maps would be appreciated but I shouldn't need a wish for that since the genie better will recognize by himself what a disaster of map that is

Re: Wish for a RE map
Damn right. Tbh Sonora wouldn't even be that bad of a map with a starting hunt.blackout wrote:Give me a starting hunt on sonora. That shit pisses me off every time.

Re: Wish for a RE map
Make turkeys go to shrines on Hispaniola
Re: Wish for a RE map
I've legit considered making like, an EP Sonora. Its a great map without the stupid hunt thing

Re: Wish for a RE map
Give Ozarks or Mongolia consistent hunts and they're fine maps

Re: Wish for a RE map
Andes - Consistent resources, no river spawn
Araucania - Smaller size, consistent resources
Bayou - We have EP alternative
Borneo - Maybe bit resource balancing, but honestly a good map. Don't know why its not used.
California - Resource Balancing
Carolina - Resource Balancing
One of the above map has no whales, so probably add whales to it to increase viability
Deccan - Good map but according to current meta needs maybe wider gaps (smaller chokes), no extra starting resources
Great Lakes - Resource Balancing, Option to select version. (or honestly no snow one as people simply hate that texture.)
Great Plains - Resource Balancing
Himalayas - Good map as it is
Himalayas upper - Good map as it is
Hispaniola - Overall bit weird, needs more hunt.
Honshu - We have EP alternative if I am right.
Indochina - Could add Tps to increase viability, but more or less becomes Dhaka then.
Mongolia - Consistent hunts
New England - Good map, needs more hunt. (Consistent)
Northwest Territory - Could be a bit bigger or starting locations bit further to each other, I don't know why its not used, its a great map last I remember.
Orinoco - Well unless you drastically change map design like make crossings across whole river it won't be used. Meta wise needs more hunt. Good treasures are rare. I think we have EP alternative to this.
Ozarks - Consistent and balanced hunts and more mines.
Painted Desert - We have viable EP alternative (Arizona)
Patagonia - Better starting hunt.
Plymouth - Same as NE (almost)
Rockies - Good design according to me but weird I guess from current meta. I don't remember much about this map but probably more hunt as usual are required.
Saguenay - EP alternative exists
Siberia - I guess main issue is texture.
Silk Road- More hunts.
Sonora- More hunts, maybe a starting hunt would be nice. Consistent TP line spawn.
Texas - More herdables and/or hunts
Yellow River - Good consistent hunts are required. Apart from that its a great map, don't know why its less used.
Yucatan - Consistent hunts and maybe a bit smaller size, I guess it has good hunts most of the time though. Mines are also usually unfair. Treasures also need fixing
Yukon - Fair start for both sides ( sometimes one side has 2k mine and other 5k mine.) Hunts being on the side is fine but both sides then should have equal starting hunts. Top side usually has far better starting resources.
I haven't opened these maps in long time so might have messed up one or 2 but mostly its correct.

Fine line to something great is a strange change.
Re: Wish for a RE map
Truthfully though if i could wish for a single thing on an RE map it would be for Himalayas to have like 50% more hunts. Its a great map, good size, nice tp, some cheeky nat techs, nice and balanced except your second hunt is usually by the tp line
Re: Wish for a RE map
i wish for even fewer land masses on bayou
Re: Wish for a RE map
Since when did people not like snow texture? I prefer playing on snow/ winter versions of maps
Re: Wish for a RE map
Mostly because it's too blinding to look at when playing at 4amsamwise12 wrote:Since when did people not like snow texture? I prefer playing on snow/ winter versions of maps

Re: Wish for a RE map
I also like snow maps but it is usually blinding to eye/too shiny. That texture needs a rework.samwise12 wrote:Since when did people not like snow texture? I prefer playing on snow/ winter versions of maps

Re: Wish for a RE map
I must be different as i've never found the texture of snow maps to be too bright. But thinking about it I do have windows night light enabled all the time so maybe that dulls the lighting enough.princeofcarthage wrote:I also like snow maps but it is usually blinding to eye/too shiny. Re: Wish for a RE map
Also regarding the maps... Himalayas, Silk Road, Great plains, Yukon, Yucatan, Ozarks, Sonora, Yellow river dry, Andes, Siberia, California & Mongolia are all potentially great maps but just need resources balancing and some need more hunts added.
Also remove the stupid unheardable starting hunt on Asain maps, and replace it with a normal herable hunt.

People who find snow texture too bright clearly have set monitor brightness too high.
