Is Rockies a hated map, and if so why??

I dont remember when, but I swear I saw some posts saying Rockies was a bad map and no one really plays in it( for either Sup/Treaty). I personally love it, the theme is beautiful and the snow is lovely and so is the central map and the idea of the mountain ranges and the fight for the middle. So just wanted to know if it is really a bad map or not. How would you rate it out of 10??

I have always kinda liked Rockies but was not considered a standard map for some reason so no one ever really played it on RE

I loved this map as a kid playing ai etc back in the day, in terms of actual gameplay it's an alright map up until PR22 I would say as the resource placement is easily abusable with an aggressive civ. In term of against other RE maps I would give it a 6 out of 10, above average but mainly due to nostalgia

It’s pretty friggin bad. It favours certain civs very strongly. It’s also really buggy with its spawns.

Besides ESOC has a variant of this map that isn’t dreadful. Like similar theme/natives etc.

No, some animals aren't herdable. It's the same with your first hunt on Siberia and Silk Road (fortunately it's just the first hunt...).

I'd say Siberia or Saguenay are the 10/10 maps on the RE.
The average map would be something like Patagonia.
Honestly, Rockies would probably be the worst QS map if it was in the set, though Ozark is a close 2nd.

Rockies and Ozarks were played a lot in treaty earlier I think.

Treaty is different because you can switch to mills.

i did make it clear in my score is mainly skirmish nostalgia and low level gameplay, I would rather play rockies than ozarks i would say

Some of the asian map starting hunts lack this line of code:

rmSetObjectDefCreateHerd(int defID, true);

I think it was either a response to the "forward vill backherding opponents hunts" cheese or for japan to have a tushogu safe hunt

I think it's time for me to host my treaty lobbies in Rockies, man, didnt play there for a long time. I think the walling in rockies is very interesting in nr55 games, except for the trade route which can hamper walling.

Trade routes on rockies are awkward. You cannot really contest them and you always are at the same routes as your opponents. Upgrading trade routes on rockies is shit.
