I also usually watch age1 when I am just chilling out. The casters usually check the decks in that time (important) and commentate on the map, the players, the MU, how familiar people are with it etc (obviously depending on their own knowledge etc.).

age1 play is good.
Sometimes the caster calls out some smart plays made in age1 , like he made the corner-most tp as germany intentionally so that otto has to go out of his way to kill that tp. This buys time for germany.

So, yes it should be kept.

I'm not arguing for cutting the age 1 lol. I'm just saying that it's not a very interesting part of the game and I skip it 100% of the time.
