Which civs will dominate ep 9 or which civs got nerfed/buffed
Which civs will dominate ep 9 or which civs got nerfed/buffed
Since I cant play for a while I were wondering how ep 9 has changed the civs or the gameplay. Since the beta was tested I hope we can get a overview about ep 9.
Re: Which civs will dominate ep 9 or which civs got nerfed/buffed
Brit seems a bit stronger and Dutch seems stupid from what I've played so far.

From my games, Dutch was okay. You can age with 14v, but you could already do that on coin start, the difference is that the other civs have a wood start when you get that coin start.

Oh god please no more Dutch meta
Re: Which civs will dominate ep 9 or which civs got nerfed/buffed
Consistent with history, the Spanish pike boom is going to dominate the early stages of the game up to mid fortress.
Whatever is written above: this is no financial advice.

Umm I think every civ does?

They get a coin crate and a wood crate. Their build seems faster now.knusch wrote:dutch basically just has a fixed crate start now, right?

Re: Which civs will dominate ep 9 or which civs got nerfed/buffed
imo dutch is really strong, the lategame buff of church card is really not needed, might even need the early game changed somewhere but i'm not sure. maybe change one coin crate for food?
india, jap, non-tp civs in general got relativelly stronger. might at least revert part of the india buffs
sioux is still meme civ, now with stronger colonial allin, and even weaker lategame.

Their crate start, 500c 200w, is impossible on RE and EP

Seems a bit awkward that Ger doesn't get a TP start consistently but if that was coupled with an XP buff (e.g. 8% shipment rate now) I could see them doing okay once a proper opening has been figured out. One thing to note is that it appears that Ger seems to be still considered "weak" by some despite the XP buff. Thus it may need a bit more adjusting. Not sure yet.

It's not considered weak by Mitoe. I think people are misplaying the civ. People claimed that Germany was weak after the uhlan nerf, and still we needed another nerf after people learnt to play Germany properly with WW instead of pure uhlan.iNcog wrote:Seems a bit awkward that Ger doesn't get a TP start consistently but if that was coupled with an XP buff (e.g. 8% shipment rate now) I could see them doing okay once a proper opening has been figured out. I don't know if Ger is good or weak. I don't play the game and if I did, wouldn't be playing at a level where balance is a thing. It'd be interesting to see where balance ends up for Germany in EP9.[Armag] diarouga wrote:It's not considered weak by Mitoe. I think people are misplaying the civ. Think Uhlans are okay at the moment and that any perceived weakness of Germany would be due to the civ itself as opposed to just that unit. Not sure. Just trying to form an opinion based off of what high level players are all saying at the same time.

coin start + super shit uhlan + malus xp + tp nerf, how to manage them can still be strong, you have to explain to me .....[Armag] diarouga wrote:It's not considered weak by Mitoe. The malus xp got reverted to compensate.kevinitalien wrote:coin start + super shit uhlan + malus xp + tp nerf, how to manage them can still be strong, you have to explain to me .....[Armag] diarouga wrote:It's not considered weak by Mitoe. Re: Which civs will dominate ep 9 or which civs got nerfed/buffed
therefore the xp penalty will compensate the start coin against a civ wood start with always an xp penalty which is "buff" at 108% can be + the nerf tp,[Armag] diarouga wrote:The malus xp got reverted to compensate.kevinitalien wrote:coin start + super shit uhlan + malus xp + tp nerf, how to manage them can still be strong, you have to explain to me .....Show hidden quotes
ger had only nerf from the start and now its probably gonna be the worst civ in ep 9 just because some players said "omg free uhlans is too strong", just take away 1 free uhlan from each age so that the shipment is more balanced instead of making 50 random changes and much too complicated
