Does MS even have a clue anymore?
How hard should it be to maintain one small rack of servers in tip-top shape? ESO came back up for a while but now is stuck on the loading screen. Surely MS has a technician with at least some basic knowledge of server and database maintenance that can spare for a few hours a week. I mean, sheesh, they literally wrote the book on much of the computing we do. I realize the game is old and not Minecraft. However, looking at the accounts created per week, even at a $20 sale price that's still a gross revenue of a million and a half a year, probably more as not everyone who buys the game comes online. Surely that's enough to warrant a bit of attention to keep a small but active fan-base from leaving the franchise altogether.

When even Metis starts complaining, you know you have fucked stuff up.

I guess there is either a new guy working on it who doesn't have a clue on how to do "weekly maintenance" or there is nobody assigned to the AoE3 servers and they gotta figure out how to deal with this yet.

Well, I'm going to go paint a shelving unit I built today. Maybe ESO will be back up later on.

Id donate 5 euros every month if that'd help with a more stable server.

Probably some issue with the ESO software which the people who are now responsible for it have no experience dealing with. Tbh I can imagine it being a difficult nut to crack considering the age, many bugs and just overall shittiness of the software. Good luck troubleshooting :-/
