Sorry I cant seem to find an answer to this (I have looked
).
Are gathering upgrades additive or multiplicative?
For example, if you get hunting dogs and steel traps does your herdable gather rate end up being:-
(multiplicative) 1). 0.84 x 1.1 x 1.2 = 1.11
or
(additive) 2). 0.84 + 0.1 + 0.2 = 1.14
I think it's the first, but is there anyone who can say definitively at all please?
Much obliged

In AOE every upgrade is off the base, so I think it's actually .84(1 + .1 + .2) = .84 * 1.3 . Not 100% sure tho

additive!
for example, food gather rate is .84
10% hunting dogs makes +.084
.84 + .084 makes the gather rate .924 food per second
20% steel traps makes +.168
.924 + .168 makes 1.092 food per second. so with both market upgrades you'll be gathering 1.09 food per second from each villager.
or as ovi put it, simply .84 * 1.3

I think it's additive, you can check this by looking at the hp upgrades, it's easier than gathering ones are more accurate than attack ups.

They all apply to the base gathering rate. So an upgrade of 20% will increase the gathering rate by 0.2*base.

Additive which is stupid but what can you do
You're obviously somewhat new to this game will find a lot of things that are stupid and defy logic well that's because it's a video game still I wish it had been more realistic not to take away from the incredible skills of some of the top players.

yep, thanks for all your help people. clearly additive (but not in the way I put it originally). Small difference I know and now that I think of it other factors make more of an impact, but interesting to know nevertheless. thanks again
