I believe the fp is successful for all stakeholders involved for sure. I believe they will bring constant updates and make the coming tournament very entertaining for all AOE3 fans. What do you guys think?

At this very moment with 0 fp games in the lobby and the anti cheat system not working I would have to say no. However, that could change over the next few weeks depending on the anti cheat system and on how many people actually download it. Also, as predicted by most, it has so far failed at reaching the lower level players. Even though they aren't probably the intended audience, they are part of the community and should still be considered.

It is not. It messed up Aoe game wise as well as community wise. It takes forever to find a game now, as well, I am forced to search and rotate between 2 platforms now to play.

The honest answer is without an official patch it's probably impossible to completely eliminate the hack, however it can be sidelined but sooner or later it's going to be circumvented.
Fine line to something great is a strange change.

Just to dispel some myths. In the first update which was released (hotfix for maps, etc), the anti-cheating mechanism was temporarily disabled and it simply wasn't re-enabled. It's there and it works. We just forgot to flip the switch. '/

I just hope DE is not going to implement all of the EP changes. Right now it is a big clusterfuck.

So you can detect all hacks and ban accordingly to it? I don''t think things like maphack can be prevented. But as long as the lazerbear guys and the oos guys get banned from the fp I''m happy.

Very, very hard to find games at my rank (Msg) with the patch currently. Glad it's working out for higher PRs though. I'm enjoying getting whipped by 1st lieuts on the EP though.

Tbh I think something like overhauling a civ would really be the only thing that'd bring low ranks over. That or nerfing Japan :p. The changes were just too minor to generate enough hype, as the biggest thing was bringing in new maps. Who needs maps when you only play 3v3 deccan?

I have to say there aren't that many FP hosted games in the game browser, but when I host a game I find opponents quite easy.

Not quite yet! It's definitely great though and that certainly helps.

The patch was just launched (and has been suffering from technical difficulties). This is a pointless poll to make considering that. Be patient and try to help make it a success!

It is still too early to tell. The FP is still finding its feet, and work must be done to recruit more lower-level players. I would suggest that some of the people from the development team host a Twitch event and introduce the community to the restructured civs, showing off the biggest changes. This might entice more people to play, since a lot of the changes look pretty miniscule on paper.

to be completely fair, the intention of the patch was really to balance games at the top level, so half the changes look miniscule to most people in game anyway.

Most of the patch is about maps and anti cheat. Both of those are exciting for all levels. For high levels because of balance of the maps and for low levels because new content
