Saturday Smackdown: Battle Royale

It's time to add some spice to the usual routine with Saturday Smackdown: Battle Royale.

What is a Battle Royale?

The same Saturday Smackdown we all love, but with money too! Beginning Saturday, February 13th, each Smackdown has the possibility to become a "Battle Royale." If the Smackdown cash pot has reached $100, the winner of that week's best of 7 match will win the full prize pot. All other Smackdowns will continue in their traditional way.

How does the cash pot grow?

For the first Battle Royale, I will be donating the full $100. For the next 5 following Battle Royale's, I will be matching the community 1:1, meaning a total of 50 dollars will need to be raised by the community to trigger the next cash event. I will be posting a donation link soon for anyone interested in helping out! Also reference the below list of donation perks.

What does this mean for the community?

If the cash pool has reached the target level, a sign up will be posted for any player interested in playing the next event for the chance to win $100. Sign ups will begin on Sunday, and end on Wednesday. The community will then vote on the players they wish to see playing in the next event from the signed up participants.

Is anything else changing?

Beginning on February 13th, I will begin hosting Smackdown on my personal twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/zutazuta) to have better control over the production value and brand of Saturday Smackdown. Other than that, it's pretty much the same as always!

What about those donation perks?

>$50 - you pick the full map set and players of the available candidates, after all you and I are funding this thing!

This is a nice news! Please support a quality setting, I would choose a lesser quality so I can watch by mobile phone, also if we have some sponsors this is gonna be great and more players will be able to play Saturday evening. Good job zuta

i see its community picks (or donator picks) but perhaps add a rule to prevent that we see a mitoe vs aiz smack down every week? (its not likely to happen but, might as well add a rule to make sure it doesnt)

Perhaps something like no player can play two weeks in a row or there must be two weeks between a player's saturday smackdown appearances?

1-st week Player A and Player B play.
2-nd week Player A and Player B cant play again, only Player A with Player C,D,E,F,G,H and so on or Player B with C,D,E,F,G,H..
3-rd week Player A cant play if he played in week 2 (same for Player B).
4-th week Player A and Player B can play one against the other again.

Btw, @zuta, is it possible the winner of the SS to redonate the earned 100$ and choose the players/maps for the next SS ?

Yeah, was thinking that too. You could make a rule that players can play one time in Smackdown. So if the community for example chose Aizamk, he cannot play in the next Battle Royale (where he can earn money).

Also I'd change your Twitch bio and profile picture, as it is related to AoE:Online atm xD
