Why are you dodging your IP ban?

Sorry but we're more or less not tolerant of ban dodging; we've been trying to be lenient and understanding but things simply aren't working out. I'm going to actually ban your account for 7 days now, as it was originally intended. IP ban was for preventing the cheating the poll.

Know that you're in a position where your suspensions are just going to get longer and longer. You incessently flame other users, you cheat in Battle Royale polls, you flip off Zuta by forfeiting when you see your opponent is Ryan. You're just overall not a very good community member. I believe that your actions have spoken for themselves enough now. Absolutely abhorrent behavior towards Zuta, who's trying to set up something cool.

If this ban gets overturned as well I'm going to be very disappointed in the mod team.

i knew this was gonna happen from the start. And while i do not condone Somppu's behaviour (specially the matchfixing is disgusting imo), I think its somewhat understandable. Nobody likes to get totally demolished, specially not in front of a crowd. I know it's supposed to entertainment for the community, but when it's just watching a slaughter, imo there is something wrong with the spectacle.

Smackdown has always been about matching equal lvl players to each other, preferably at the highest level, or otherwise another level. This should be maintained imo. So one simple solution is, instead of voting for distinct people, zuta should make pairs from the signed up players and allow people to vote for the pairs. This will prevent things such as trying to find yourself an easy win and make a price deal (price deals can still happen i guess, but its no longer an easy win) or getting lobsided matchups such as h2o vs somppu or h2o vs cheadar. I'm still in favor of a split pot, or even better, a bounty for winning maps, however the way i proposed here doesnt need that so i think its a good idea.

Sadly, i am no longer available to play tonight (or anytime soon for that matter), I asked h2o yesterday if he would play and he said yes, so i committed myself to other plans. I guess just host a normal smackdown tonight, take a lesson from this failed attempt, and come up with a bit smoother rules to prevent some people in this community to pick the fruits of the labour a few others are putting up to make this enjoyable for all.

In that poll I see :

Tier 1 : H2O, Umeu, Aizamk
Tier 2 : Tibia, WickedCossack, KingofOsmane, SomppuKunkku, Kaiserklein
Tier 3 : Totalchaos, Jerom, Bramboy, Incognoto, Hazza, Marco, n0eL , Gichtenlord, lukas, lag_the_master
Tier 4 : the remaining players

You might as well give Cheadar a chance.

It's perfectly fine that H2O plays, as long as he can't play again before a long time. We can't punish him for being good, plus people voted for him so it would also be against what people voted, which is basically not the purpose of a vote lol.

I was afraid something like this might happen, knowing the history of previous attempts to make Smackdown more competitive. Given the comments made in this thread, a few statements for how I will move forward:

  1. There will be no cash event for today and I will reconsider over the next few days whether it is worth my time and energy to attempt to organize something like this again.
  2. There will still be Smackdown today, but it will just be the normal event, no money, random players selected from those available before the stream starts. If you're interested and available, message me on ESO at approximately 20:30 GMT.
  3. Moving forward SomppuKunkku will not be allowed to play in any cash event I host, having demonstrated the inability to be a reliable and trustworthy player over the course of the week.
  4. I apologize to those who had already donated money for future events. I will be returning the funds by end of day.

Hope to see you all at the stream and sorry this didn't work out as I had hoped.

I'm sorry to hear that. Just remember one idiot does not equal one community. There are still plenty of people willing to participate in and enjoy your events. In the future, I recommend Umeu's idea of allowed people to vote for pairs of players (ex: _H2O vs LordRaphael). This way there's no intentional matchfixing and we will always see a fair and enjoyable matchup.

I can totally understand your reaction here. Kinda the story of AOE3 community life. Please try again whenever you feel to, most of players are not that dumb to shit on your effort to do something for the community.

I really just don't understand why people do this. As if destroying the community and pushing away people willing to put time, effort and even money into it is going to help them somehow....
