Ah I remember umeu there was a day where we played a lot of germans vs ports before you went adventuring, and ports seemed to do quite well on the land. It was good maps for them though (mostly fixed GP and siberia etc.)

I think it's a close MU, definitely wouldn't say germany is a counter civ.

Ye i played this mu alot about a year ago, vs you, musket mitoe and erik. And i think i won atleast half the games, and most of it was on land, where germans does naturally better. You are right about the maps, but i conceded already it needs to be high res maps for ports to have a chance.

If ports hold the 12 min timing they are in a pretty good spot imo. And germans usually dont make cannons and have no shipment, so they kinda lack that siege potential that fre or spain have. and i think cannons is what really fks ports over.

Id fear china way more than germany tbh

What the hell german players have you been playing against? Maybe you played vs people who ship like 8 skirms first instead of 1k wood, vs portugese I do mitoe''s BO. I just do normal semi ff, ship 1k wood for houses second TP and almagation. Then I do 8 skrm 7 skirm 9 uhlan and push, with 8 uhlan coming a min or so behind. There''s nothing portugese can do vs that, even if they go just straight up goon mameluke.

Against some of the best players in the game at that tjime anyway, and two of them played tons of germans. As i said i played it vs mitoe and 1000w is in ports adv imo, more time is in their favor. And 1000w is gs bo...

Also skir uhlan gets completely crushed tbh. U need ww or doppels maybe. I remember erik went doos and it was pretty scary

Most ppl cant play ports... Same argument. Its like 4 ppl maybe of which most dont even play. In the right mappool ports can do very good vs alot of civs. But the toptiers just rape them still
