Treaty Player Tier List

hey guys

everyone likes to talk about the top 10 treaty pros of all time or the pro circle and how it's developed over the years. personally, i think this sort of thing is very interesting; having a list and ranking of prominent treaty players does well to keep the history of treaty alive and accessible, which is my reason for creating this thread. i will post my personal list in the next post and i welcome everyone to make a list of their own and post it here; seeing how everyone views each other is, to me, one of the most fun things about competitive gaming. i'll update everyone's list into the second post of this thread unless told otherwise

veni could definitely be tier 1 if he played more often, and if he also played off orinoco! for some reason he has a disinclination towards andes ;p veni was one of the few players who could challenge sabusa in 1v1 nr55. in fact, i learned my control group setup from watching a vod of veni vs sabusa france mirror on ori 55.

as for the top elo, the #1 elo seed belongs to a guy who's done a lot of shady stuff in the tr community and #5 is his smurf. #4 is a point trader, but #2 bager is a good player, probably around mid-low tier 2. and holy shit, i forgot about #10 donorprince, he certainly belongs at the top of tier 2! updated my list

Definitely think you have to allow for advances in optimization and account for how much a particular player may have pushed the game towards its current state when you're trying to rank people across time periods. Otherwise you may as well separate tiers based on activity, and not a "who would win a gladiator match right now". Kind of why we remember players like Johnny Unitas in football as one of the GOATs, even though there's no way he'd be able to make it in today's league. IMO PI milky and stormcoming should be on the Mt Rushmore of treaty (along with others from different eras, obvs). Just consider where treaty was before they were active, their contributions on the aoe3 forums at the time, and where treaty was (in terms of quality of play) when they stopped being active.

I don't like this attitude of tr players (including me) We always think of tr rotating around andes and players playing on orinoco are always outcast, It's a different map and setup is bit different but the basic concept is same. lot of them are not as popular as andes community and hence are left out but there were lot of ppl who could challenge dick or sabusa at their prime. Also you have to consider that treaty just doesnt revolve around nr40, nr20 is also part of it and when it was active it had huge player base and remember that dick and sabusa could never top that, in fact I don't remember sabusa playing that ever

The list will never be good enough because new players don't even know about old players, I doubt if dick lukas etc know of players from 06-10 era, so they will always be left out.
