[SOLVED] Cyberoam has blocked ESO.

Post by Ashvin »

So the IT Dept in my Uni. with the help of Cyberoam doesn't let us visit any website related to games and stuff which also blocks ESO to connect and my vacations are getting over so I won't be able to play then once I get to Uni. Any help?

Well actually I was looking for a pocket-friendly method for at first, I know vpn would work (i tried with some free vpn). Its sad that i can't use proxy to tunnel the network (they track my port and blocked my internet access until I met them in person and wrote an application stating i won't repeat :P )

I didnt try tor but how would it help to run eso?

I wonder what they expect those restrictions to accomplish. :(

Actually they have also restricted us from porn. So looks like they want people to study instead of playing or you know doing something else.

Tor is like some hacker browser or something that entirely hides what you are doing on the interwebs right?

One is awake about 16 hours per day. Our brains are hardly capable of being truly productive more than 10 hours per day. Long term you will get more done if you take your time to relax too. I think its also proven that the amount of time students spend in class doesnt necessarily correlate to the grades they get. Go tell your university that.

No porn.. These guys are heartless beasts.

I just hope DE is not going to implement all of the EP changes. Right now it is a big clusterfuck.

Any uni blocks P2P. It's probably due to traffic saving and I guess safety.
I don't think there is any technical solution. And even if you find one that bypasses the net restriction, then it's likely ESO won't recognize your PC so you get ftj.

actually the billing is in USD and INR is so weak against USD...like 1 usd = 65 inr. this makes it costly.

Well, not really, qs doesn't just work. It only matches you against people who you can connect to, which still may as well be nobody. The algorithm for deciding player connectivity is afaik the same as normal rooms, but it is true it might be easier to find a compatible player on qs rather than testing out all the rooms one by one.

I would advise getting very fond of offline mode, possibly enjoying superb mods such as NE, or WOL, etc. You could also roll out the allmighty dollar for some mobile hotspot data plan and play off of your own wireless data if that is possible in that area
