Worst RE map?

Great lakes too as it tends to spawn 0 gold mines in my base like 20% of the games ive played there

Yukon is far to be considered the worst imo. Sometimes it does spam well and there are multiple tps. Also some nice treasures on the left side.

It has very poor hunts, many times even no second hunt and it is my qs nightmare when i pick brits

well there are usually 2-3 hunts in middle if you can take mid with civs like India/Russia/Iro/azzy/ it isnt a bad map tbh nowhere near the worst

Well I guess we talking about standard maps so I'll not moention amazonia or ceylon
There are bad maps like Indochina, Borneo, Carolina, Bayou, Texas
Then there are shit maps like Ozarks, Summer Great Lakes, Sonora, Araucania
But they all pale in comparison with the godfather on shitmaps...Hispaniola

actually i love deccan.
extra crates gives every civ different possibilities.
yeah this is not a balanced map (asian civs imba), but at least interesting.

bad maps can make you ANGRY.
like sonora, ozark, bayou, araucania.
you just starve to death again and again.

What a hard decision. So many to chose from. I hate Bayou, Sonora, Texas and Amazonia. But Indochina is bad too. Did ensemble studios not test the maps well ? So many are bad for hunts. The community make better maps !

Great Plains. Every single time Jim convinces me to play on that map I spawn with one deer while he has three bison and starts lecturing me about how great plains has a lot of hunts.

True, you can't even counter the water play with a proper land boom, so if you encounter this particular setting in QS as — let's say — the French or the Germans, you're basically screwed

How come? It's basically New England with more starting villagers, extra treasures and no TP-route, which makes for more-paced games — I like the idea of it a lot!

I like ozarks sometimes, makes for fast paced games, surprised people like hisp and indochina more

Indochina has a lot of resources, of course a lot of them being berries, but you have at the very least 2 hunts + elephants, and you can boom on land nicely with only two chokes to defend.

Yukon is great, just sometimes imbalanced, but that's the case with virtually every RE map.

[Ozarks] Has 4 tps though and like you said, hunts run out at 10 min though that is better than at 6 min like on Hispanoila, my personal vote for worst RE map.

It's 3 TPs actually, and still you have to be extremely lucky to run out of relatively safe hunts at the 10th minute. I guess the best way to play this map would be to just build an outpost on the other side of your half of the map, or play civs with blockhouse-like barracks (or the Portuguese!).

It's already been done; the AS remake is outstanding. I know I insisted on including it with the EP, but I can't recall whether I was satisfied.

It's a perfectly fine map IMO if the TPs are equal, I'd add something like 5 whales in the middle of the river, but I guess it's not really acceptable realistically-wise, although again I'm not necessarily sure whether we should take that into account.

Actually about California, this map have several problems. Of course terrible hunts pathing in the trees. But you have sheep to help you, I don't have anything particular against this. The thing is, on this map the southern player get more advantages than the other. If he want to sea boom, he can wall easily, as he is on the right side of the route, and have a lot of giant sequoias very close to his TC. He also have a cliff in a good position, I think lb or yumi laming is very easy here.
The other northern player has nothing of these, he is on the poor side of the map, he has far fewer trees and is more vulnerable to raids, his base is harder to defend...

Saguanay, Great plains , siberia and new england are awesome to play if the spawn isnt messed up. Hispagiola is the worst RE map, especially when u QS as japan and u cant shrine the turkeys... still better than bonnie springs tho!
