The official fixed crate topic
Re: The official fixed crate topic
why on RE lol?
On EP 100g start favors Dutch a bit and 100w start favors German a bit, regardless of which civ actually wins the MU currently. All other combinations are less balanced. Especially 100w for Dutch and 100g for Germans is going to be utterly unfair for Germans.
Do you realize tuat civs already have their custom crates? The extra ones are just like maps, they sometimes favor one civ or the other. The important thing is that they are the same for both civs.

The random crates are like maps, in that they favor one civ over another. However, you have a choice of what civ to play on what map, but you dont have a choice of what civ to play on what crate start.

You dont have a choice when maps are random. Or are you going to only play fixed maps and only favored civs for each of them?
In any case, why are people so obsessed about controlling every aspect of the game. Just play. In 99% of cases loss is caused by worse play or highly unfair MU. Maps, crare start, treasures, etc. are barely any relevant, statistically speaking.

True that, people are arguing very hard for changes which would probably only effect Pr35+ games.

Considering the overlap of "people that play on EP" and "PR35+ players" you could think a little more on what you just said.

I think it's a senseless change for many different reasons and that people who argue hard for it are less affected by it than what they say on the forums. Still as I said before, discussing this further is beating a dead horse, so I'm personally not going to partake in the discussion anymore.
Re: The official fixed crate topic
When will be implemented this into the patch?

Re: The official fixed crate topic
Whether or not this were to ever happen (I think it would probably be much better but then random maps in general seem like something of an abomination to me) it should definitely be changed (if this is possible) so that China gets an extra food crate whenever the extra food crate spawns for the other player.
Like given what a big deal the -100f change and reversion to France was it is just ridiculous that in France vs China sometimes France will spawn with 4 food crates and a wood crate (food start) and sometimes 4 food crates and 2 wood crates (wood start with the extra food crate spawn) while China will always spawn with 3 wood crates and 2 food crates.

Re: The official fixed crate topic
China has already an optimal amount of fixed crates so they dont need 100f. They basically always get the +100w crate.

I wasn't whining that China needs a buff. I was whining that China's MU balance varies wildly on the crate start as the opposing civ can randomly have 100 extra resources at the start or not. Like france with a wood start with extra food crate on EP2.0 vs China should do better than france with a wood start with no extra food crate on EP3.0 vs China. But EP3 France is generally accepted as being substantially better than EP2 France.
Maybe a better solution would be to fix a wood start (with no extra food crate) for all civs when playing in a game with China (Or better yet, for all civs in all games ).
Re: The official fixed crate topic
i think its funny that people think an extra 100 food crate affects the game in any substantial way
Re: The official fixed crate topic
It certainly doesn't

This post really makes a lot of sense. Garja really doesnt, but hey whats new.
Re: The official fixed crate topic
Problem is China not the other civs with random crates. If China had same crate mechanic there would be no problem whatsoever. With fixed crates there is to some extent but since they virtually always get +100w and never +100f it works fine for the most part.
