RO16 RULES

The deadline for this round is Sunday, October 23
Map Pool:
1) ESOC Arizona
2) ESOC Indonesia
3) ESOC Colorado
4) ESOC Manchac
5) ESOC Arkansas
Rules
- Best-of-5
- You must play 3 different civilizations in the first 3 games, then you may play any civilization once more in the 4th and 5th games.
- Players will agree to the matchup for the first game, and the following games will be alternating first pick starting with the winner of the first game. Please see the example below.
Example for BO5:
Game 1 (Best-of-5)
Player A plays British
Player B plays French
Player B Wins
Game 2 (Best-of-5)
Player A may not play British
Player B may not play French
Player B picks their civ first
Player B plays Dutch
Player A plays Russia
Player A Wins
Game 3 (Best-of-5)
Player A may not play British or Russia
Player B may not play French or Dutch
Player A picks their civ first
Player A plays Japan
Player B plays Russia
Player A wins
Game 4 (Best-of-5)
Player A may play any civ one more time.
Player B may play any civ one more time.
Player B picks their civ first
Player B plays Aztec
Player A plays Japan
Player B wins
Game 5 (Best-of-5)
Player A may play any civ except Japan one more time.
Player B may play any civ except Aztec one more time.
Player A picks their civ first
Player A plays Portuguese
Player B plays Dutch
Player B wins

I think its just Bengal and Cascade right? Probably need another unless I have forgotten one.

Pampas Sierras as well. IIRC all 3 of these maps have been in the last 3 rounds as well.

We only did different maps for every single match in the Summer tournament, and it was a lot of extra work and overcomplicated the rules a bit. Not to mention people would have a harder time preparing because everyone's playing on different maps.
This way works fine and keeps the map pool diverse without complicating things.

Let's also keep in mind that, in a tournament setting so ridden with external factors that these are features of event rules, making a concerted effort to expand on them is... questionable.

Tbh you should also try a tournament once where all maps for all rounds are known from start of the tournament
