Advice for French vs Germany

Hello guys,

i'm struggling in this specific matchup. My opponent always goes for a very greed German FF and i cant beat it, i tried rushing and tried building a counter-composition in fortress.
His build: 2sw 3sw 700g 1000w 1000c CavCombat 9Uhlans
My build this game: 4CdB 700w 700c Cav-SemiFF into 1000w 1000c CavCombat 3 Cuirs

I spoke with WickedCossack and he advised me to go for Cuir-Goon with only a few skirms, to snipe the 5 doppos he makes.

Mistakes i think i made: i mismacroed age 1, buying a 100w when i didnt need to and i build the 2nd TP too late cuz i didnt notice the explorer didnt start it. Also my positioning in the last fight wasnt so good i think, maybe i shouldve gone back and tried to get a narrow engagement between the market and the houses. I tried sniping the doppos but i think he put them in covermode.

Any ideas on how to approach this opponent would be very welcome!

before he pested me, i used to musk huss rush him - idle vills, kill houses etc and then he's dead. then u can age if u need an he has no eco

He doesn't play a standard German, so advice is only viable for that particular German player. There are multiple ways to beat him though.
I used to just mass a lot of Musketeers and Hussars, wait for his ball of skirm, dopps, uhlan, maybe few ww and cannons and Attack-moved. He never protects his cannons if he has any and that combo does well against his lag

I usually play aggressiv vs Greatshyle cuz he plays on gp (I think I have never lost to him so it works).
I aim for a musk/Huss timming when he ages. He usually doesn't make a lot of units early on and let settler exposed, so try to damage him as soon as you have units.

Hi guys just wanted to thank you all for tips, this is a game i played recently vs the same guy, same MU.

I didnt go agressive, since I easily overcommit and wanted to play a more control-style.

In full EP-Spirit i went for the 5Huss 4vill 700g Semi (works better vs 180hp uhlans), raided him, got up earlier, pushed in with 10goons and did some nice economic damage, then sat back with 1000w, and Cav Combat just before the fight.

Afaik, on ep 10 Huss Semi into 10goon timing, followed up by 1000w is your best bet rn? Like we saw in KingofOsmane vs Jerimuno or PrinceofKabul vs Kaiserklein?

To clarify, i'm talking about 4v 700g 5goons 1000w. Surely you need the wood for housing and a rax, so you can keep being ahead in military?

Why do you need 700w/or wood in general so early though? You only would need a rax and more housing space if he pressures with doppos in age2, which i think is already quite a concession, since you will be up soon with goons+mm to hold and also raid a bit while he is in your base.

You need 700w so that you can spam units from 2 military buildings. If you go for 1k w as your second age 3 shipments, you'll have to chop for houses and you'll only have a stable.

From my experience it's two houses, which you can also buy with a still reasonably efficient Market, and vs the German Uhlan Spam why do you need to make skirms asap? Rather get a second stable from 1000w and spend accumulated res on goons and cuirs, which Germans have a tougher time dealing with.

Also you're up sooner and have goons, so raiding shouldnt be an issue and until the German skirms come, the rest of the military should be up and running.

700w/4cdb/700g
During transit normal TP+ market up but only 25w gathered for steeltraps, when 400w arrived, open rax or stable+one house+ ST, first musq or huss batch then 700w add another military building rax or stable +houses+ second TP, make another batch of each and rekt ulhan age2 semi with musq/huss composition and his TP etc.., solid follow up due to the 2 tps (can prob send a 4th age2 card) and very fluid shipement progression then.
H2o and irish used to do that.
