i dont think so, germanys just about uhlans tbh, ez civ compared to what you have to do in order to win with china.Riotcoke wrote:I think it's more than it emphasizes skill, as in if you have the basics it's a lot better than a civ than something like Germany.Lukas_L99 wrote:Yeah, it's not as easy as people make it seem. Real and fake civs

Thanks for the explanation, wasnt expecting less from you.[Armag] diarouga wrote:First of all kaiser and rapha don't play China so they can't tell whether it's easy or hard, all they can say is how strong it is.Majora_ wrote:i think you didnt understand the "easy".
Dutch seems to be op good as well, "Banks that will always give you coin, no matterwhat" + "Vills are made from coin".
I was talking about playing the civ, is it hard? controlling 5215646 different types of units, aging up with tower wonder while being rushed and having some skirm mass issues seems to be kinda hard mechanically speaking.
also id like to hear a pr38+ opinion @Kaiserklein @lordraphael @Diarouga @tabben @Lukas_L99 about china's mechanic
To answer your question, I'd say that China is rather hard mechanically.
First of all, the macro is hard because you need to distribute your villagers very well and a good macro can often make the difference (aging earlier, getting your batches earlier etc). Macro-wise it's one of the hardest civs in the game.
Often, you will have to defend, which is not easy either.
And finally, you have to be very precise on your timings and get the right unit composition to win.
I have to admit that the micro is rather easy as you only have to a move (although you need at least 3 unit groups) though.
So my opinion is that China is not easy to master, but just like Japan, it seems op when the opponent doesn't play properly, and you don't need a great micro to be good with it, which is why the improving players (tabben, Lukas, mongo) became very good with that civ in no time.
well, for me, its hard to decide somestuff with china and also putting units in the right unit comp group. (im pr 25-26)

Re: Real and fake civs
The fact than villager can garrnison vili is incredibly strong cause this make china unraidable, somethings matter a lot (no need to be good at herding, hepl for saving vilis from a rush etc...)
Re: Real and fake civs
Stop, this doesn't go along with the current "Blame the game for being unbalanced when I lose" meta, so it can't be right![Armag] diarouga wrote:First of all kaiser and rapha don't play China so they can't tell whether it's easy or hard, all they can say is how strong it is.Majora_ wrote:i think you didnt understand the "easy".

Re: Real and fake civs
Honestly, China is not that easy. China feels OP because if they can reach their max potential unhindered, they are really strong and and seem almost unbeatable: tower wonder, consulate, great shipments, strong cav, disciples, free units etc (kinda like the Sioux deathball). At this point, they are also fairly easy to play with regards to eco distribution etc.
What makes China challenging is especially the fact that basically everyone plays aggressively against them and/or cav semi. And holding strong rushes can be a bit tricky, eg VS Russia or iro.
Playing vs China can feel frustrating due to all the free shit, but I don't feel they are any easier than other civs. If anything, civs like Ger, France or Iro are easier. You have standard builds, no batch training, only 2-3 different units to micro etc.
