KickAss Admin Decision

Post by _H2O »

Hi Everyone!

There has been some noise about a recent decision. See here

The teams decision here was to advance pecelot and disqualify KickAss.

The question I want to clear up with this post is why?

Here are the four infractions that we based this decision on. In parenthesis is the accommodation the team made:
1. Failure to check-in (ESOC Team manually added him to brackets to resolve this)
2. Ignored casters in game 2 vs tedere12 (I specifically said the hunts are fine and to continue the game. This is in the rules which players are responsible for knowing)
3 Refused to honor admin decision on the game vs tedere12 (Game 2 was to be replayed. Kickass refused blatantly and made topics on the forum to this affect. Poor conduct, breaking the rules)
4.Unacceptable Scheduling for the RO128 Match (We repeatedly tell all players to provide specific times in GMT time that they can play. The scheduling efforts in the above thread were not enough to get the game played.)

To elaborate on point 4. People in our events live globally and do other things with their day. Thats why we schedule things with specific times. By the time this decision was made, we had already made plenty of good faith attempts to keep kickass in the tournament. We want all the games to be played.

I also want to add a comment on language barriers. I understand that users on our forums dont all speak english as a first language. We cannot operate in multiple languages due to our size so we operate in english. If a player doesnt speak english, we would encourage them to work with other community members to make sure they understand the rules. Meaning if you only speak french, talk to some of the french people you know in the community to make sure you get the rules and that your scheduling efforts are effective. Providing specific times and showing up is a global skill.

Again, I hope that next event will go smoother for KickAss and that his games will be among the ones we see on stream!

Can't believe ESOC just booted the most responsible player, in terms of adhering to rules and scheduling proactively. Extremely disappointing to see obvious staff bias disqualifying one of the clear favorites to win it all just to give Mitoe an easy road to the finals.

You can remove 3 huss from the tournament but you can't remove 3 huss from my heart.

yeah well I've been away since Monday morning
it was a bit awkward due to time zones, but at the same time it's not California or Japan, it's Brazul with GMT -3, but for some reason he could play only past 23 GMT, which is 1 AM for me
sorry for the inconvenience, glad to see it solved, thanks

Sad to see that it needs an H20 when there is a @Mr_Bramboy lurking around who does a fantastic job himself.

Absolutely. Bram does so much, this last tournament wouldn't be running without him :).
