French. It's a lot closer than I used to think though. Maybe like 52-48 now. Prolly thought it was 60-40 in the past.

It isn't terrible, but French definitely are favored generally speaking. On maps with awful game to hunt Russians might even be favored.

Russia pushes so early if you try to semi ff 5 cav aren't enough to hold so many units if u stay on age 2 very hard anyway because if as Russia you kill some villagers and the first batch of units you won. Probably it depends from the players. Fre can win but can lose too. Hazza I checked ur elo today and you won vs every player who used fre against ur Russia so I think you should give a point on favour for Russia tbh

But in age 2 its gonna be hard for French, because late Russia colonial is too big cost effective mass...
So its better actually in age three for French, because skirm/goon just destroy everything Russia has to show, and with some cuir in mix their are OP vs low HP Russian infantry.

I dont really see Russia winning early/mid colonial, nor do I see them winning anything in fortress wars, and I dont see them forcing late colonial vs late colonial either. So I'd vote France.

But don't really have too much experience in this match up honestly.
