Best way to macro china in the first age is to go for 2 villages and Northern Refugees.

>3 vills on food crates asap, rest vills on hunts asap
>2 crate vills start chopping wood as soon as villager is queued
>1 crate vill gathers all food / wood crates and then goes to wood.
>TC vills go to hunts
>gather enough to make 2 villages
>herd hunts towards your TC and kill them as they are close to TC

If you want to be same as fast as a euro you'd need to skip vills/send 300wood (300f is useless and way to bad).
with 300 wood you are prob even a litle bit slower, but you have 300wood more.
But in every case: If you go Age II do it the standard way.

If you want to hit Colonial as soon as possible, 300f is the only option. I wouldn't recommend it though...

the trickle card (food wood gold export: what's the name of that?) and age up with 13 vills may be better against a rush?

i tried to catch the game designer's idea: if china can get some food or wood treasure early, the refugee start is of course the best. but is it still the best way if you can't get any treasure?
age up at 4:30 or 5:00 is totally different, and vs a rush civ (india) or a boom one (brit) you'll never has a better eco than him, so is the one extra vill always better than aging up 30 seconds faster?

I tried 300f 700w 9pike 8bow and got up to 55 units at minute 7.40 (1 monk, 1 disciple, 26 bows and 27 pikes). Age up with the summer palace (o villagers) and get 5 to food rest to wood after queuing 1 villager. 1 builds a forward village and upon age up a forward rax. Set the summer palace to the pikebow army and gather up the 400 food, get about 10-12 villagers onto food rest wood. Send 700w and gather it up, add 2-3 more villages and spam the bowpike army. Might not be much but could be worth a shot. 700c and age up is also doable after the rush failed, or sending 300 export for 12 british musketeers after 7 steppe might be a good continuation of the rush but don't stick too long, musk huss will eat you.

Send nothing in age 1. Age up very fast.
Make summer palace. During aging, chop for a forward village, and make it HC point. Que up 8 bows/9 pikes/7 steppe (whatever you think has to be first or last). Rush hard. Meanwhile, gather food and gold. Don't make a rax.
Send 700g, and go age 3. This will be surprise age up. It's the reason why mika wins with this lame build.

Anyway, H2O FF is still better (not vs India, otto, france and all the aggressive civs). In case against aggressive civs, send 700g, 8 bows and porclain tower. (BS did that vs Samwise and won in China vs France MU)

but this means you need to chop a looot for consulate rax market etc.? and 8 ckn without pike are vulnerable to hussars. i prefer a 700w colonial start: if he just raids, 700w 700g semiff' if he rushes hard, 700w 8ckn 700g will work.
