nononono, wrong game, equal footing is a AOEO map.
I rate this

Hopefully aoe 3: DE will implement some of these ideas such as increasing the pace of the game. It doesn't necessarily have to be starcraft fast but aoe3 is definitely the snail of the rts world.

Could be worse. I once played collo until like 3am. Went to bed when absolutely everyone else was from brazil
[edit] It was a weekend and I lived far away from anything else so I started playing at around 4pm. 11 hours of collo not good for you!

No. Aoe3 is already a lot faster than aoe2 (games are twice as long in aoe2).

Nice call. You should avoid those kind of people.

AoE3 is already not the snail, its pace is faster than AoE2, for example.
You might be interested in Age of Empires Online, if you're looking for something even faster paced than AoE3.

There are rumours that sc2: lotv is quite fast paced

Nothing against people from brazil, but I don't speak Portuguese! Sorry

Not joking. If you spoke, you would avoid them even more 21111

I'm comparing aoe to sc2 (the most popular rts). I wish to have an aoe era game with the speed of sc2
aoe 3 Deathmatch was the closest thing to it but DM community is basically dead now

Unfortunately sc2 is a linear, shallow RTS where micro and apm form the basis of skill. There are no Bonengs or Aizamks in sc2. Count me out!

problem with sc2 is that it takes at least one thousand games to stop losing to complete bullshit out of nowhere in most of your games, thats what actually puts me off with the game
"hey, cool macro game bro! nice strats! impressive adaptation! ah, sorry, you should know that in this map in this mu in this bo is possible to drop one widow mine at 7:42, and you failed to dogde the shot and it killed all your eco. gg."

This is spot on, however the new balance team is changing this aspect as we speak so this argument will become irrelevant
I will agree that aoe has more potential strategic depth. With that strategic depth comes the curse of never being able to fully balance the game.
Also love the subtle but now obvious deviation from my initial protest: Take the speed aspect of SC and give it to AOE. The topic we are on now has little to do with that

Dont you think thats the same in aoe3?

The only analogy worth mentioning would be losing 10 vills at a time to a raid because you have your sound off, which isn't the game's fault.
SC 2 has way more game ending plays that prey on tiny mistakes

It's to a might higher extent. I make so many mistakes when I play with @hleung , but I still win all of them.

It looks like any numerical value had a random number generator applied to it.

To a certain extent, yes, thats rts in general, but imo aoe3 is much more forgiving then sc2.

Thats good to hear, i might check it out to see the current state of the game.
I actually enjoyed wings the most, hots added more ways to "harass and make the game interesting", but for non-masters, that means "more ways to win or lose in a blink of an eye because non ideal play"
when lotv came out and added even more focus on this 'harass' part of the game I just lost interest, I didnt even buy the game...
