starting crate
starting crate
What is the general rule considering starting crates ? I can read on Goodspeed guide about britts :
"With 200w and no gold crate, simply build a manor.
With 300w, build a TP and chop 35w for the manor.
With 200w and 100g, Mine 75 gold (usually get most of this from treasures), build a market
first and trade gold for wood, then get a manor + hunting dogs."
If there always 3 differents "starting crates" for each civs, same as brittains ?

Re: starting crate
Not a big fan of the last one where you build a market and sell gold for wood, better to get a manor out first imo for teh extra vill sooner and just chop or try and find a wood treasure for a market.
Re: starting crate
It depends on the civ, france makes a market and buys wood when it has a 100c start, india can't do anything with coin.
Most strats on the strategy wall will have a "what to do with which crate start" section.
Sometimes things change: like Mitoe said in his recent brit guide (and prob. others before) if you have a small wood treasure in base, you can chope for 2nd manor even if you have 200w start as brit.
btw: welcome to the forum

Re: starting crate
To be more clear, I just wanted to know if each civ starts the game with 3 differents combinations of crates like brittain.

Re: starting crate
Yeah all civs have 5 possibilities f+w, f+g, f, g, w
The only civ which is always getting the same crates is China
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong

You can also have Nothing so that's 6 possibilities
Re: starting crate
You cannot have nothing. One crate is always f/w/g. Then second one can be food if it didn't spawn already.
Re: starting crate
The chances are allocated like this right:
1/3 food crate
1/6 wood crate
1/6 wood + food
1/6 coin
1/6 coin + food
1/3 food crate
1/6 wood crate
1/6 wood + food
1/6 coin
1/6 coin + food

No. What macaco said is true. Maybe Jerom's post is even better. I just never paid attention to how likely the different spawns are

Re: starting crate
Idk about probablilities but one must know what to do in each of these 5 cases for any given MU
Re: starting crate
yeah, if an age 1 TP civ gets +100w + 100f you should probably resign if its not yet at 2 minutes XD

Re: starting crate
It's correct except the last "wood" should be food, assume typoJerom wrote:aligator92 wrote:draztik wrote:So there is many differents theories about starting crates lol

Rather a slip of mind, I fixed it.
