Quick Question: Did anyone notice that Muskets are better...

than Pikemen vs Cavalry for cost? Like, this is absurd; pikemen are specialists at acav and building destruction, but muskets do a better job at anti-cavalry. By extension, Chinese Qiang Pikemen suck even more, despite having a better statline for cost than Pikemen.

youre also refering to muskets in melee, you can micro inbetween each volley so they do the ranged attack rather than the melee attack, and in that sense, musks are poor anti cav

the musk player can also do that though. shoot, and then move into melee range for the melee animation to kick in.

you can spam pikes more quickly with wood crates (400, 700, 600), then it kinda evens out

Pikes work well with xbows in age 2 because they have the exact same cost, making it much easier to macro. That, coupled with their higher speed and siege, makes preferable to musk as part as that composition.
