Sick of the those lame ass otto rushes

So basically I seem to do alright at multiplayer unless the opponent is doing a otto rush.

I just thought I'd ask what is a good counter?

Just tried Brit VC long bow build and this guy still destroy me, jans just seem to op.

Any tips people?

If you're on a map where you can have renegados, build a saloon and train them, they counter janissaries better than Brit units and I guess as Brits you have enough population room (maybe I'm wrong, I never play Brits but as Germany it works quite well (with Palatine settlements, though)). Dont do VC stuff, on RE atleast. Gotta learn how to adapt your build to hold the holdable. Most of jan rushes at low level are totally holdable unless you have completely screwed map. Then eventually when you will face unholdable stuff (jan abus huss) you can think of avoiding Otto and/or RE patch.
Need to craft your build to beat the opponent. Try sending units or crates at the right moment. Basically just learn how to defend well: use TC fire actively, dont lose vills for free, learn how to position your units so that the opponent has a hard time going on top of them, make good use of mm, etc.

Play with those ass otto rushers and record the game and upload here and we can see what options you have, at least otto abus-jan rush is the most difficult to defend but the rest can be countered much better.
Normaly when a guy is rushing he don't focused in defense, meaning his herd is quit bad and his buildings are randomly placed, so raid with cav or even infantry is not bad.
I have a story about 1 guy was wining me every single match up on a map without TP forget the name and he basicaly mass about 15 jan and 10 grenadiers and attack about 7 to 8 min, sometimes he attack sooner with 10 jan 10 or 5 gre, i tried every thing with France semi ff, cav bows, musk cav etc nothing was working (i was very noob though). I started wining when i was aging with 13 vills or 12 without hunting dog and make cav fast to raid him and buy time to avoid his good rush timing and because his herd was very bad he was losing alot villsa, i started wining ez

By the way i tried remember that noob bo and i used in some mu and works well, it is not because of no TP or make expensive and not so great unit- grenadier that it doesn't work.
Basically is: (works better in Nilla cause you have more wood that you will not use in TP and cause infantry don't have negative bonus vs cav)
Aging soon as possible and send 3 vills.
Make sure you have 50 population by the time you start making units
With wood you start, you make art. foundry and homes and with 400 age up wood you make barrack and 2 homes,
Send 700c and next 700f (c) or 700w depends if you need population or not. queue jan first cause you will make grenadiers when 700c is almost coming.
Don't collet too much coin in transition.

It is good cause grenadier tank more than abus and is heavy food cost as jan so you basically focus your macro at 1 resource and with good siege damage you destroy things faster that is useful in a rush.

Bad thing is that you will not send resource shipments faster if you don't make damage by attacking cause you don't have TP or even eco.

Your vills won't kill his Jans but they will soak up a lot of damage. Pull back low HP ones into the TC (holding Alt will show HP of units). You should be able to not lose any. Start with a barracks and make musk and crossbows. You will need musks when he sends 3 Huss. Send the 8 crossbow card as 2nd or 3rd card in Age 2 (best case scenario when he is under your TC).
In general against aggressive Civs, make sure you herd as well as possbile. On shitty maps you might even have to start herding your 2nd hunt in age 1.

Don't go VC vs Otto unless you know exactly what you're doing (which is not the case).

Just age at 4:10 with the tower, and 5-10 lb+mm will do the job.

i woudlnt copy high level players builds for this sort of thing because they tend to rely on good micro and macro, id copy 1st lt builds cos theyre mostly simple to pull off and super safe, so something like 700w 6lb and then adapt is probably the best way to go, use tower coin age up for steel traps and put 1 vill on coin to get 150c for minutemen, then just make lb and maybe 5 pike for his 3 huss shipment, add more pikes/musks if u wanna push out

In this game I lost my TC, but managed to rebuild it. Still had a hunt, (my age up tower was off to the side covering a hunt), had VC working for me. I thought mercs could save me, so made renegados, managed to hide vils on mine, but it was too late i think, he was getting vet upgrades and cannons and without a card like Palatine settlements (obs not as I'm not playing German) I kept getting housed.

I did scout were his vils were on hunts though, and i usually rely on an unexpected raid to get me back into a game.

But hey it was all too late
