It can be useful let explorer dies in oponent's TC to know what he is doing, resources that he is sending etc ?

It's always more useful to walk in when you except him to send a shipment (like 40 seconds after age-up) and then walk out again. But if your hero dies in your opponents base anyway, I guess you might as well drop him next to the TC.

You can do more useful things when your hero is alive. Also its not that hard to walk in like 3-4 times to check what's up in his base
