Since Otto have royal guard Hussars, is it viable to go for a cavalry strat?

In my experience: no.
Of course you can make use of the 3 huss shipment or produce some hussars in addition to your other units. But going heavily on hussars (e.g. in a team-game) is just bad. The ottoman economy is so weak that you can never really afford a significant mass of hussars. Also you have access to units which are simply much stronger: abus and jans.

In 1v1 this is viable in a lot of cases to go Huss/Jans, especially on ep where abus have been nerfed and you anyway can't use them well vs Big turtle due to the TC.

otto cav start can be really strong tbh. and in fact they can get many huss out quickly. in team you can even go double stable start and open 13 hussar under 6 minutes. or with tp you can spam full batches from 1 stable without trouble.

the problem is that once otto starts to lose huss in 1v1, theyll have a hard time replacing them and keeping up making jans or abus to keep the combo. in team this isnt really much of an issue, but generally otto goes abus or jans because its a bit easier and otto doesnt have age2 cav ups, so usually there are better cav civs.

otto huss is totally viable. it was just not used much in 1v1 because there were better options, and in team ppl usually go abus cuzthey are op (on re) and still quite good on ep.
