I feel japan have to wall and in late they win ofc. It s overall fair. Elephant canon are the key for india. 2 éléphant kill a wall in 2 shots, destroy flamming arrow,if india don t loose them, they can easily win.

Well it went 50/50, all the games were very close.
As kynesie said, Japan has to rely on a lot of yumis behind a wall, and if you want to win as India, you have to make something happen with the 2 siege elephants backed with infantry+mahouts.
You don't really have to win super early, you can win at 20min with a big timing, but if you reach the late game (30+ min industrial, 70+ vills), Japan just wins.

So you get 10 less yumi but bastion instead. You both were floating around ress for bastion 2x over at some points in the game.

Like on cascade. But also vs hazza, if you delay your iv for 1min or so to get bastion instead, you would never be in that bad situation right after aging. And even without bastion, india cant force the fight in japans base. Diarouga wouldve probably won if he had gone 3 tc way ealier, but only because the mahout push was so succesful. With bastion it wouldve failed

Not sure, I had to make my mill transition which was very expensive.

Yea, im talking about before that eve. Even before you made the mahout switch you couldve gone tc if you had macroed for it. U stacked 2k coin so that couldve been 1.5k wood instead. But yeah maybe eve then it wouldnt have been enough

I agree once japs get bastion , it s almost over. But it can be hard, you have to stock a lot of resources and then the research take a lot of time. It create a window for an india push. Aging IV create also a window, but once you reach IV, send 1 card and hold (like with this mahout push , i had hard time because i was aging and then i held ). If india breack wall during bastion research, it s over because all resources invested are useless if india is already in japan base. Maybe 1k gold card into bastion make sense.

Yeah thats true, its a risk, but you take that risk toowith going iv, as it takes 3x as much res to go iv as it takes to get bastion. In both games the window to do it was there, but ofc when ur in the game its harder to make that decision

If Japan needs wall to succeed in this matchup, how well do they do on maps were walling is harder? How would Bengal play out, for example? Would it be much easier for India to break Japan?

agree, the build should almost be arround bastion asap, as soon as you have 7k hp walls, game changes completelly

If the gate is opened by a friendly unit, yes. You can also lock gates so they can't open at all.
