Strategic shrine placement

Post by PeachTree »

Hi all,

Recently, i have been playing as japan and i made shrines to steal enemy hunts and so far it has been a great success. Is this a brilliant move or a dick move?

It depends though. If it turned out to be a victory, then it's a good move, especially in a scenario that your enemy forward block you and rush you. But if your enemy placed his military buildings at his base and developed his own eco without any thoughts of pressuring you, then your strategic shrines placement might be a hazard, cuz your enemy now have the opportunity to ease your shrines out of the map. Well, quite often if you were not pressured, you will finally win the game. But what if your opponent is Indian...

It should be considered to be a dick move

If it's a civ you expect to train infantry to siege down your shrines (like pikes or sepoys or whatever) it kind of gives your opponent an easy target. Better have your shrines far away in the corners then. If not then yeah it's good.
Also depends if you have kami, port consulate, or nothing. With the good old kami shrine boom you might even need to use these hunts to reach the cap
