You can counter by yourself playing otto by doing ff or x2 jains rush or go ff with other civs and get goons asap followed by skrims behind ,semi ff doesnt work,would say counter to otto will be germans (go ff) then make ww /skrims then mercs you win.

Spain ff does OK. Else you have to semi and go skirm/goon (mostly goons).

A pretty straightforward counter is actually musk semi with French. Skirm goon also works but there is a chance you can't kite well enough vs mams and you can't rly protect cannons if he charges you, so you rely on trading them before mams. With musk oriented play you can simply mirror what otto does but with better eco and eventually skirms.

You mean std. Spain ff? Make 10-15musk and ship falc lancer then huss. But how would it counter otto ff? Wont otto ff be faster plus if we both trade our falcs equally he'll have jans I'll have musk/pikes/dogs which are all inferior to jans. And i cant make skirms since he'll ship mams. I guess i ship heavy infantry instead of cav?

You do std. 4cdv 700w 700g 15musk semi? And make what after reaching fortress? Cuirs? And ship falcs to trade? I dont know seems slow man.

Yeah now that i think about it you can basically harass and maybe slow down fortress timing or atleast make it difficult for him. Plus ww are better against jans then goons.

4v 700w 700g is not standard. 4v 700g 700w is with a TP start. Without TP start 4v 700g units

4v 700w is not standard semi. standard semi is vill + 700g. 700w in between is an adaptation.

700w second card has become more standard than 700g because it's more flexible.

Vs otto ff though I doubt you have time to go for a 3 card semi

Not really, that's too slow, you should ff.

There's usually just no reason to go for a semi vs otto FF. Semi ff is the counter to ff on paper, since you can idle and deal some damage with your colo units, while aging barely later. But in the case of otto it's different, their ff is so fast that if you train units in colo you'll most likely just be too late to hit fortress, plus they train jans in transition super early so your colo units most likely won't do anything.

ger ff is an hard counter to otto ff, but otto would prob not ff vs ger, so that's not so interesting.
I think spain ff does very well unless if you throw falcs
china ff works quite well as well
fr anything works vs otto anything kind of (but you should just mass goons with some skirms).
sioux prob auto win with some rr (stagecoach map are tricky to deal with though but we are talking about ff here)

Other civ also have a way to deal with it (maybe exept for russia), but it's a bit harder.

Yes. 3 SW/700c might also work because all you need is WW.

3 sw 700g works but only with age 1 TP

But i was wondering with france anyways. Where is also direct ff as people said. Also if we did 3sw and gold or 4cdbs and gold you'll have to train units it seems otherwise it wont be perfectly macroed to age when 700g arrives? Wont you float resources?
