How to counter ff builds as japan
Whenever i play Japan, I have a decent colonial age with good eco and I usually win verus colonial plays. But I never know what to do vs Civs like Germany, France or Spain when they go ff. What is the right answer to this?

Feels like age 2 ashi nagi destroys ger ff. Early clubs for uhlans/killing tp. Dont fight age 3 army til u have 10 nagi

just add 10 yumi :/
Re: How to counter ff builds as japan
Pretty sure Germans do fine vs Colo Japan. But a big Yumi mass can be hard to deal with if they’re carded + Daimyo, regardless of the age.

I feel like the japan ff is way slower than german/france ff. Does anyone have a rec with japan?

Like previously answered, your options are
1) Stay colonial, you should have a chance to build a good eco and go for ashi/nagi. Avoid takings fights after germ/fre has a big mass, outside of your base.
Protip: Even though walls are paper, having 1 layer of wall can help you trap your opponent and stop kiting.
2) Go for Garja's 600g 600g (or 600w/600g can work too) and stay defensive. Use flamings to take falcs down.
If it's a TP map like High Plains, Mendo, I would go for strat number 1.
If it's non-tp or tp-line without stage possibility, go for 2.

If it's no tp you definitely don't want to ff, because they won't ff, they'll have to play colo

I assume that OP is a Brigadier Colonel vs colonial strats.
But basically, yes.
