Re: China vs Japan
Matchup of the month showmatch please, this is great
Re: China vs Japan
I am feeling so conflicted about aggro Japan. When players like Lukas or turk do it, it feels quite strong. But their micro is also very good.
If I try it, I feel I get outboomed and outmassed, like Garja in random stream games VS Kaiserklein's ger or France (no offense to anyone).
I am still unsure how viable aggressive/cons/Nagi etc Japan is and how much of it just depends on the opponent not preparing for it and/or much better micro.

I'm not necessarily saying japs wins the matchup, rather talking about that build.
I do think it's easier to play from the chinese side though.

Tbf, I've literally never straight FFd vs Japan, but never felt uncomfortable once with the MU.Lukas_L99 wrote:I'm not necessarily saying japs wins the matchup, rather talking about that build.

It feels like china has that sweet spot of being formidable even against aggro jap with china's great age 2 shipments coupled against Japan's lackluster, slow-even-though-aggro, expensive pressure.
Worst case, sac the FB and unit shipments for an even trade, and be Age III.
They (china) have the XP curve, the LI unit, and age 3 shipments to make it possible. If jap follows up, you're winning. They just don't have goons.
It's the very definition of a winning MU in my eyes.
Just my take, I don't play a lot of good players.
Re: China vs Japan
Try play this mu against a good japan player like cosuco or mongo u ll change ur mind, their ashi age2 is insane can't deal with this as China I would thinkdeleted_user wrote:Tbf, I've literally never straight FFd vs Japan, but never felt uncomfortable once with the MU.Lukas_L99 wrote:I'm not necessarily saying japs wins the matchup, rather talking about that build.

Sorry, "ashi age 2" is music to my ears as china.Mosx wrote:Try play this mu against a good japan player like cosuco or mongo u ll change ur mind, their ashi age2 is insane and China can't deal with this I guessdeleted_user wrote:Tbf, I've literally never straight FFd vs Japan, but never felt uncomfortable once with the MU.Lukas_L99 wrote:I'm not necessarily saying japs wins the matchup, rather talking about that build.

I don't mean to dismiss everything. But if I feel it's viable at my level, it's probabaly viable at yours.

Re: China vs Japan
A club rush (in some of its variants) is definitely scarier for china than japan kami boom imo.
Probably you can still go for standard kami boom and hope to outplay but i feel like it's an uphill battle.

Can't do anything but agree honestlydeleted_user wrote:CMC > SKGRiotcoke wrote:Ego post tbhdeleted_user wrote:Extremely china favored. Semi as china with 9 pike 8 bow 700g/7 steppe ff, or stay colonial longer with 300e for Russian cossacks. In age 3 just mass cav with intervention musks and 10 arqs to DPS ashi/club. There's not a lot Japan can do, especially after double faced armor is in. Ideally, china waits to take the big fight until this upgrade is sent.
Here's that build against standard Japan winning vs. suboptimal age 2 Raph, when china still had cover mode monk:
